Congratulations Dollie! 👏👏

We’re delighted to announce that acclaimed jazz theatre artist, choreographer, educator and advocate will be joining AED as one of our new Vice Presidents ✨

Awarded an MBE for Services to Dance, Dollie Henry has spent more than four decades shaping the landscape of jazz theatre dance in the UK and internationally. As founder of BOP Jazz Theatre Company, an internationally respected educator, choreographer and creative consultant, Dollie’s influence spans performance, mentorship, advocacy and inclusive arts education 🤍

Her remarkable career includes work across the West End, film, television and international theatre, alongside a lifelong commitment to championing diversity, equity and opportunity within the performing arts sector 🎭

We are honoured to welcome Dollie’s expertise, vision and passion to AED and look forward to the incredible contribution she will make in supporting the future of dance and performance education 💫

NYDC brings together talented young dancers from across the country to work with leading artists and create world- class performances. This is done through residencies across the UK during school holidays and a national tour in July. They support young artists to realise their potential and gain insight into the professional world of dance.

Blackpool, NYDC EXPERIENCE WORKSHOP

NYDC are visiting Blackpool on Sunday 10th May 2026
and are holding a free workshop for dancers aged 15-18 (*up to 24 for those who are d/Deaf or disabled). Their workshops welcome disabled and non-disabled dancers from all backgrounds, dance styles and levels of experience.

The NYDC workshop is
from 1pm - 4pm at Whittaker Dance Studios.

Who is learning to line dance with Emma Gill ? She is from Example Dance Academy in Poulton and is holding regular line dance classes for anyone local to Blackpool! The British Country Music Festival she will be hosting sessions throughout the day on Sat 5 September.
