On behalf of the Blackpool Dance Board CIC that operates Festival our thoughts are with the friends, family and students of Phil Winston's Theatreworks whose founder Phil Winston has passed away.

Phil was a well respected teacher and choreographer and his legacy will live on forever through his students who perform all over the world.

As many of you know, the Blackpool Dance Board CIC is behind the creation of Capital Of Dance

We have been supporting Royal Ballet And Opera to work with schools and children in Blackpool.

To celebrate its centenary, The Royal Ballet School have partnered with RBO Schools Dance to host free one-hour creative ballet workshops for students in Year 3 and 4 to discover the joy and benefits of ballet.

Congratulations Dollie! 👏👏

We’re delighted to announce that acclaimed jazz theatre artist, choreographer, educator and advocate will be joining AED as one of our new Vice Presidents ✨

Awarded an MBE for Services to Dance, Dollie Henry has spent more than four decades shaping the landscape of jazz theatre dance in the UK and internationally. As founder of BOP Jazz Theatre Company, an internationally respected educator, choreographer and creative consultant, Dollie’s influence spans performance, mentorship, advocacy and inclusive arts education 🤍

Her remarkable career includes work across the West End, film, television and international theatre, alongside a lifelong commitment to championing diversity, equity and opportunity within the performing arts sector 🎭

We are honoured to welcome Dollie’s expertise, vision and passion to AED and look forward to the incredible contribution she will make in supporting the future of dance and performance education 💫
