THE ONLY ONES – Confirmed for Rebellion 2027
Deservedly known for one of the most iconic songs ever written, The Only Ones have a back catalogue that goes far, far deeper than Another Girl, Another Planet.
And if there’s one audience that knows that, it’s the Rebellion faithful.
Formed in London in 1976, The Only Ones arrived as punk was exploding. Punk, power pop, rock ’n’ roll, psychedelia and the wonderfully distinctive songwriting and voice of Peter Perrett all combined to create a sound that was completely their own.
Across three brilliant albums came songs like Lovers of Today, Out There in the Night, The Whole of the Law, The Beast, No Peace for the Wicked, and You’ve Got to Pay – songs that may never have troubled the charts, but became genuine classics to those who knew.
And then, of course, there’s THAT song.
Another Girl, Another Planet is simply one of those rare records that transcends generations – three minutes of near-perfect guitar pop that sounds every bit as good today as it did when it was released in 1978.
Incredibly, 2027 will be only their THIRD Rebellion appearance in 17 years, making this a genuinely rare opportunity to welcome one of the most important and individual bands to emerge from that original ’76/’77 era back to Blackpool.
This one is going to be very special.
