🎄🎅 A week ago today, we were dancing in the rain as the Christmas Town Parade wound its way through Bishop Auckland town centre, and honestly, the weather only added to the magic.

💃 Skirts swirling, drums echoing through the streets, lanterns glowing and smiles everywhere you looked. Rain-soaked or not, the town came together to celebrate the start of Christmas Town in the most joyful way possible. 🥁

Because sometimes the most magical moments aren’t the perfectly planned ones - they’re the ones where everyone just keeps dancing anyway. 💫🎄

🎄✨ THAT’S A WRAP, BISHOP AUCKLAND! ✨🎄

And just like that… Christmas Town 2025 has come to an end — and what an unbelievable four days it’s been! ❤️🎅

From the very first ride spinning 🎡 to the last hot chocolate served ☕✨, you turned the Market Place into a festive wonderland filled with joy, music, laughter, and magic.

To the thousands of you who came along, supported local traders, explored the market 🎁, packed out the Tipis 🔥, glided on the rink ⛸️, queued for Santa 🎅, and lit up the town with festive cheer — THANK YOU. You made this event truly unforgettable.

🌟 A huge shout-out to our incredible traders, performers, ride operators, stewards, production crew, and every partner who helped make Christmas Town happen, especially The Auckland Project for providing their buildings.

We owe a special thanks to Bishop Auckland Town Council, our Principal Partner, for making this magic happen, and to BACCANALIA and Bridge Creative, the non-profit enterprises that work tirelessly year-round to bring this event to the town.

We want to give the BIGGEST shoutout to the unsung heroes of Christmas Town since the very first event, Windlestone Nursery, who fill the event with gorgeous Christmas trees, for our community. ✨ We’ve been looking through today’s photos and… wow. The smiles, the lights, the rides spinning under the night sky — Bishop Auckland has truly felt enchanted.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today. The feedback has been incredible, especially for Santa’s Grotto, which has been getting rave reviews from families. If you haven’t experienced it yet, tomorrow is your last chance to see the magic. 🎅✨

It is cheaper to buy your Passes online tonight than at the Box Office on the day — and with another busy Sunday expected, we strongly recommend booking ahead to avoid queues and make the most of your visit.

✨ The Christmas Town Parade came to town… and what a celebration it was!

🎅 The town transformed as the Parade swept through the streets, bringing wonder, colour and pure festive magic.

💃 Leading the way were the Christmas Carousel Dancers, spinning in their beautiful red and green tiered gowns, creating a whirl of colour that set the scene for the magic to follow.

🥁 Behind them marched an army of drumming elves, keeping perfect time with a beat that carried the parade through the town.

👑 Then arrived winter royalty…

❄️ The Ice King and Queen, elegant and frosted, gliding past the crowds with a quiet, spellbinding charm.

🦊 Close behind came the Christmas White Foxes, playful and curious, darting between performers and lantern light.

🏮 And bringing it all together was a constellation of glowing lanterns made by the community - a sea of handmade creations lighting the final stretch of the parade, reminding us that Christmas Town is built by the hands and hearts of the people who fill it. ❤️

🤩 Curated by the incredible Jack Drum Arts and commissioned by Bishop Auckland Town Council, thank you to all who took part and everyone who came to celebrate with us!

✨ What an incredible first day at Christmas Town! ✨

Thank you to everyone who came down — the turnout has been unbelievable. The site looks magical, the music’s been flowing, and we’ve had so many lovely comments from families who’ve made memories already.

🎟️ Golden Passes are flying out!
Tomorrow’s passes are from £18 and include EVERYTHING with UNLIMITED GOES on all rides and the ice rink. Spin round and round as many times as your stomach can handle — it’s all included!

The Grotto is getting rave reviews — warm, magical, and full of beautiful moments.
