🎬 UNICA 2025 – What a Day!

Just a couple of hours ago, The Crescent’s beautiful Main House was packed with audience members from over 20 countries, all gathered to watch the final instalment of three days of film programmes from 24 nations. A truly international celebration of creativity.

Tonight, we’ll hear the jury’s reflections on what they’ve seen today—before they retreat to tackle the tough task of deciding which films deserve the highest honours. Good luck to them… they’ll need it!

📅 Tomorrow brings a change of pace.
We begin with UNICA’s annual congress—a morning AGM where the important business of keeping this fantastic festival thriving is discussed and decided.

Then, it’s time for something completely different: the World Minute Movie Competition. We’ve never seen it live in the UK before, but word on the street is it’s gloriously chaotic. One-minute films go head-to-head in titanic battles, with the audience voting for their favourites—all presented in a truly unique and madcap style.

🎟️ If you haven’t joined us yet at UNICA (and honestly, where have you been?), tomorrow is the day to turn up. No booking needed—just come along and be part of the magic.

 🎬 UNICA 2025 – Day One Highlights
We kicked off the cinema screenings yesterday with a strong start from Great Britain, whose 45-minute programme featured several award-winning films from BIAFF. The audience response was fantastic!

Britain’s programme was followed by powerful selections from Armenia, Sweden, Germany, Italy, North Macedonia, Austria, and Hungary—a full six hours of film from across Europe, and that was just day one!

🎥 Each film screening day of the festival ends with a public jury session, where we hear thoughtful reflections from our international panel. It’s fascinating to hear the range of perspectives and insights they bring—true diversity in appreciation and analysis.

📅 Day Two is about to begin, and it’s not too late to join us!
We start at 9:00am sharp with programmes from Norway and Liechtenstein, followed by films from Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Ukraine, Poland, and France.

No booking required—just turn up, find a seat, and enjoy the ride.

Die besten Amateurfilme, die von den nationalen Organisationen aus 28 Ländern ausgewählt wurden, werden im Wettbewerb gezeigt ... lassen Sie sich inspirieren, fordern Sie sich heraus und genießen Sie sie!

Das Festival fördert die Kontakte zwischen den Besuchern aus allen Ländern ... ein Schritt zum Frieden!

Veranstaltungsort ist ein Theater in der Nähe des Brindley Place und des Kulturviertels von Birmingham ... großartige Sichtverhältnisse, Projektion und Ton.

Der internationale Flughafen Birmingham wird von den meisten Ländern angeflogen, viele davon von Billigfluglinien.

Der Bahnhof Birmingham New Street ist ein wichtiger Knotenpunkt mit Schnellzügen aus den meisten Teilen Großbritanniens.

Die Veranstaltung findet jedes Jahr in einem anderen Land statt: 2025 wird sie in Birmingham, im Zentrum Englands, stattfinden.
