Whimsy and narrative in the perfect mix... We had difficulty choosing what photos to choose to pop on this post as they are all so good, if you'll excuse the pun.... absurdly good! 🤣

Miniatura will soon be upon us and Jane Harrop will be joining us for our show in the second weekend of October.

We asked Jane how the Spring show went and what she might have in store for Autumn...

'The last Miniatura show was fantastic, we had a great time catching up with everyone.'

'It was noticeable that there were quite a few visitors new to Miniatura and to the hobby of doll's house miniatures, many in awe of what was available to them and of course the different scales!'

'We love the enthusiasm that buzzes around the hall from the stall holders and visitors alike.'

'We've been building up stock for a while now for the show, amongst the kits we'll have for sale is a new one for Miniatura which uses a mirror to create the illusion of depth.'

'We'll also have plenty of our popular online kits too, like the 1/24th scale trestle table and benches which we are looking to be in 1/12th and 1/48th scales too.'

We hope you're ready for an amazing show next month... Miniatura will be as packed as ever and Delph Miniatures will be there with their latest creations.

With their traditional methods merged with modern, their work is unique, we asked Kath how their Spring show went and a sneak peek on what they have been working on too...

'Our last Miniatura was one of our best! Unusually for us we started working on new items for the upcoming Miniatura in plenty of time for October. Someone asked recently if we did gold bars to go inside our Safes, so we do now!'

'I felt a bit like a Bond Villain stacking up my 'gold' for the photo shoot! LOL... It's like an expensive game of Jenga. (PS.. they're NOT real gold, sorry... but at least they're affordable!)'

'Also having noticed the green and yellow Defibrillator boxes appearing all around our town and local villages too, we really wanted to create these in 1/12th so you can add them to your realistic street scenes. We're really proud of them, my son said that they'd come together really well!'

'Meanwhile, I'm working on a commission for a Small Animal Ward for a vets practice. It's something I've been wanting to make for a while, as a great addition to the few vet items that we have. So this gives me a great excuse to add them to our range. They are obviously a large item to accommodate in a miniature scene, so I'm going to make various sizes, from 2 pens up to 6, but as I'm currently in the planning and cutting stage, you'll have to come and see us at the show to see the finished wards!'

During this busy prep time for our next show, we're still updating our online Gallery pages! Here's a new face... Sue of Maggie May Miniatures.

Mostly inspired by 70's styles with a splash of hippy and vintage, as she adds to her Emporium she also makes extra copies to sell.

A truly eclectic build and a great eye for details means Sue truly belongs with Miniatura and we wish her a warm welcome.

Barnsley based Smallsorts will be attending Miniatura Autumn with characters brimming with their usual unique personality and charm!

We asked them what they were up to and their thoughts on our show and Toni told us...

'At the moment this is a busy time getting not only the stock for Miniatura made but the orders to be picked up, along side trying to keep on top of all other orders, but some how I manage!'

'The last show was outstanding, filled with new and old customers. The buzz at the show is amazing. I love the fact that this year it is back in October giving the public more time to sort themselves out after the summer holidays.'

FIVE VALLEY BEARS - Everyone loves a teddy bear and at Five Valley Bears you will be spoilt for choice. Nickie and Ginnie have been perfecting their art for decades and each one is perfect in it's own way.

NORMAN D. WHITING H.S. - What would any home be without a few pieces of art on the walls? During his lifetime Norman created some wonderful work and now his wife Eileen produces prints to keep his work very much part of Miniatura, and we are very grateful that she does.

KASTLE KELM MINIATURES - Top quality model making of all kinds combined with an imagination that seems to never end makes this stand top of many visitors wishlist. Mike and Jenny are always coming up with something new which makes it hard for us to keep up! Suffice to say, go take a look at their table and be amazed.

KS IMAGINARIUM - This is the new name for Kamilla at Our Craft Nook, and here you will find all manner of delightful creatures brought to life! She will also be offering a drop in needle felting workshop for anyone wanting to learn a new skill.

Five Valley Bears KS Imaginarium

The beauty of the work of S.Mini knows no bounds, capturing the level of detail that she does takes a keen eye and an exceptionally steady hand.

Susan has been very busy over the Summer, not only was she honoured to feature in July’s edition of World of Miniatures but she’s also been mixing it up and has been hosting real-size clay flower workshops.

As well as all this and prepping for the Autumn Miniatura show, she’s also agreed to run a workshop for us, more details on that real soon (although, spoilers, we've included a picture of it here). I’m sure you’ll agree her work is stunning, just way until you see it at the show!
