Today marks 4 weeks until Sunn O))) return to Birmingham!💥

"In 2004, was the first time we presented them, at the old theatre space in the Custard Factory, seated, maybe 120 people if you squeezed them in. My job was to operate a tiny dry ice machine at the side of the stage. The problem was that Stephen and Greg wouldn't come on until the room was suitably engulfed in fog. I spent the entire set trapped in a cloud of smoke, a few feet from the amplifiers, with absolutely no ear protection and very little understanding of what was happening to me.

It felt less like a concert and more like witnessing a weather system. A tectonic event. A sacred drone ritual. Almost certainly a contributing factor to my current hearing loss!

Afterwards, Stephen and Greg DJ'd in the bar, gleefully chuckling their way through records like Beavis and Butt-Head sharing classic metal tracks.

Now, over twenty years later, they're returning to Birmingham. This time at the O2 Institute Birmingham. This time with the monumental grandeur of their latest album behind them. This time with actual professional smoke machines.
And crucially, this time I won't be operating them!” - Lisa Meyer

It's going to be immense. Don't miss it. Tickets here - https://supersonicfestival.com/event/sunn-o-2/ 🎟

🌞🏳️‍🌈 HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! 🏳️‍🌈🌞

At Supersonic, we believe that music should be a place where people can be themselves.

This Pride Month we're celebrating the LGBTQ+ artists, audiences, volunteers, staff, and friends who are part of our community. We stand with trans people and the wider LGBTQ+ community, not just this month but all year round.

Thanks for helping make Supersonic the welcoming, weird, joyful, and inclusive place it is ❤

Here's a 35mm photo of Ian (One Leg One Eye) and Daniel Foggin (Smote), taken by Dani at our Supersonic 2025 after-party last year.

Both appeared separately at Supersonic 2024, then in 2025 they came together for a hypnotic, impromptu set that left everyone mesmerised. So we're delighted to welcome One Leg One Eye back, with Daniel joining the bill alongside Shropshire favourites Haress for a very special night of music!

This show will be partly seated - get your tickets here - https://supersonicfestival.com/product/one-leg-one-eye-castle-falcon/ 🎟

THREE WEEKS TODAY!

Just three weeks until we host One Leg One Eye with support from Daniel Foggin (of Smote / B**g II) and Haress at The Castle & Falcon on Thursday 18th June!

We’ve been enthralled with their new record 'Crone' released last Friday on AD93 - full of beautiful, haunting sounds and words that draw on ancient Ireland while still feeling connected to the present. It’s already looking like an early contender for album of the year, so if you haven’t listened yet, you really should - and then come see it live!

Tickets available here - https://supersonicfestival.com/product/one-leg-one-eye-castle-falcon/

Hardcore punks FLESH CREEP will now be joining THE NONE’s specially curated night celebrating Brums heavy music scene at The Castle & Falcon, performing in support of their anticipated EP 'GLIMMER', released the day before on the 17th July on Music For Nations!💥

Birmingham-based band Flesh Creep proudly describe themselves as “friendly people that make unfriendly music.” With roots in hardcore but unconstrained by it, their sound blends frantic aggression with pop sonics, wry humour, and a deliberate rejection of genre machismo.

You won’t want to miss this show - all these incredible bands for just £17 (including booking fees)! Grab your tickets here - https://supersonicfestival.com/product/the-none-castle-falcon/

Last Thursday we had a blast with The Ex and Ensemble Bednieri at The Castle & Falcon - it was a truly great night of music and there was a real sense of community in the room, so huge thanks to both groups, the venue, and our lovely audience!

Coming up next: we’ll be hosting One Leg One Eye, Daniel Foggin, and Haress. Then, two days later, Agriculture return to Brum alongside Healing Wound!

‼THE EX SET TIMES‼

Set times are here for The Ex and Ensemble Bednieri tomorrow night at the The Castle & Falcon!

Emerging from Amsterdam’s political squats during the late 70s punk explosion, they quickly began pushing the limits of the genre, weaving in no-wave and noise influences before incorporating a wide array of ideas drawn from non-Western and non-rock sources. These include Hungarian and Turkish folk songs and, more recently, music from Ethiopia, Congo and Eritrea, while still maintaining the raw energy that motivated their formation.
