The Spring Hooley Round Cooley is an early season sportive which takes place this year on Sunday 19th March 2022. The event is a lively event with some of the local cyclists looking to test their legs and strength before the season gets to full blown stage while the endurance and leisure riders are looking to improve on their time last year and in turn getting excited as this is the first local sportive of the year. No matter what type of rider you are you can be assured of a warm welcome at The Spring Hooley.
As you will appreciate the weather can be unpredictable in March with sunshine, rain, wind or snow and sometimes all of those at the same time. Really, this sportive is not about good weather, its about seeing if your winter training has worked or kicking off your leisure season, either way setting your goals and expectations for the year ahead!
The distance is 60k moving from the rolling hills of South Armagh into the seaside landscapes of North Louth. We have designed the course to be fairly fast and not too challenging with no โKiller Hillsโ en route! The event starts at Craobh Rua Clubhouse , 5 High Street, Derramรณr, Bessbrook at 10.00am sharp and registration will be open at 9am were you can also grab a tea or coffee and have the craic before the off.
The Spring Hooley is a Cycle sportive and as such the event is open to cyclists of all abilities from novice to advanced. There will be a stop half way through with refreshments to warm you up then onward to the finishing line. All participants will also be treated to hot soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee at the finish. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed!
Registration can be done online or on the day in the clubhouse and costs only ยฃ20.
