Congratulations to Director of the Dunedin Consort, John Butt, who is to receive an honorary doctorate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. John is renowned for his work on 17th and 18th century music and historical performance practice, so we're delighted to be presenting him in the 18th century Paxton House this summer. Tickets are still available for his Sunday morning concert on 19th July with limited availability for his appearance with members of the Dunedin Concert on Saturday 18th July.

So many things to love about this story. Not only an example of the power and talent that can be unleashed in a community when it has the opportunity to engage with professional musicians, but also featuring the fabulous Rosie Lavery as Carmen, who was one of our Live Music Now Scotland taster concert artists back in 2023. Our next taster concert is Sunday 7th June at 3pm at Paxton House with James McIntyre - Tenor and Ross Morris, Classical Guitarist , with free entry, a programme suitable for all ages, and featuring two more emerging artists we’re really excited to be presenting.

Paisley Opera are currently undertaking an ambitious production of Carmen while trying to show the art form does not have to be posh.
