A death café is a group-directed discussion of death: no agenda, objectives or themes. They are always offered in a respectful and confidential space: no intention of leading to any conclusion, product or course of action and it is not a counselling session.
An opportunity to talk about death and dying in a friendly and conversational space.

MekiMeki are a race of creatures Tan first created when he was 6 years old. He now uses them to explore what it is to be human and in particular the hinterland between remembering and forgetting.

Learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), a technique that can help save the life of someone who is in Cardiac Arrest.
Delivered by Belper District Community First Responders.

Creative Conversations returns THIS COMING THURS 17 Sept: book now! CREATIVE CONVERSATIONS - free to attend, but you do need to book:

Sessions are FREE to attend but booking is reccomended.
Join us once a month for a relaxing evening getting creative, expressing yourself and connecting with others.
Our monthly group is an opportunity to take some time out, explore your creativity, and express your thoughts, feelings and ideas around themes related to mental health and wellbeing.
These sessions are for you if:
- You need a wellbeing boost
- You are struggling with your mental health
- You want a space to reflect and express yourself
- You enjoy being creative
- You don't think you are creative but would like to try something new
- You'd like to meet other people from the local community
Each session there is a theme that we will all explore using the creative materials provided. These will normally include pens, pencils, pastels, and a range of collage materials. No art experience or skill is needed. It's all about expressing yourself, there's no right or wrong.
The sessions are run by trained facilitators who are there to support you.
The sessions are available to all adults 18+

Language Soiree TONIGHT Thurs 10 Sept 7pm - let us know any new languages!
Do come along to our Language Soiree! It is a convivial social evening with a different language spoken at each table with, usually, both beginners and native or fluent speakers and everything in between.... its an entirely informal social occasion and you can bring your own drinks including takeaways from Angels real ale micropub next door.
Last time there was a very lively Greek table!
Someone contacted us hoping to start a British Sign Language table - so do spread the word and let us know if you are interested.
And we have had enquiries about Portuguese, Punjabi, Scots Gaelic and Japanese - so get in touch if you'd like to join a table for any of these.

Robert Dimbleby (keyboards) and Jack Williams (saxophones) - two of the most talented and exciting musicians in the UK today - return to No28 as a duo.
