Run Bedford

Run Bedford Run Bedford is a 10k road race around the heart of the town. Now in it's third year. Will next be taking place on Sunday 18th June 2017.

Run Bedford is now established as a large, very popular running event. With entries nearly doubling to 861 after the first year, Year 3 (2017) is looking like doubling again and - dare we say it - we might even top 2000! With such a great response from those who ran the inaugural race places will be snapped up pretty quick! This is a course that will take you along Bedford’s loveliest avenues. Sta

rting on Bedford’s beautiful victorian embankment, you’ll breeze along the tree-lined Park Avenue, DeParys Avenue – then with just a mile to go you’ll be lifted by the crowds as you fly down the High Street and finish in grand style alongside the river Gt Ouse. You may never make the olympics but you’ll certainly feel the crowd behind you at Run Bedford! Whether you’re a world-beater, a fun-runner or a fund-raiser this a great chance for a personal best. The course is flat and very fast!

Hi everyone.
I've written an email to all 2020 entrants regarding the fate of Run Bedford. It should explain the situation. Unfortunately, when I pressed "SEND" I had a verification code sent to an email address no longer working. 😕 So, as if things aren't hard enough, I have to wait for Active's technical support to get back to me before I can send it. I'm hoping this will be tomorrow.
Sorry.

RIP Iva. The lovely lady. Always had a hug and a smile.

Could you be part of Team Incredible and support local hospice care?

As you know, sadly this year's RUN Bedford had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. Sue Ryder St John's Hospice were our charity partner this year and with many fundraising events cancelled, they need the help of the community now more than ever. They've launched a Virtual Summer Series to get people out and active all whilst raising some funds for Sue Ryder St John's Hospice so they can be there when it matters.

Can you take on the Summer Series by completing a virtual 10k, Half Marathon, Marathon or cycle throughout the summer, and raise much needed funds for local families needing its expert and compassionate palliative care?

The Summer Series takes place from July to October and encourages people to complete their chosen distance over a week, month or on a specific event date, for any events that have been cancelled due to Covid 19. The series has themed months to keep you motivated, July is 10K month, August is cycling month, September is Half Marathon month and October is Marathon month. If you’re feeling ambitious you could take on the challenge of doing all four disciplines and be a Summer Series Champion!

By signing up and fundraising, you’ll be helping Sue Ryder Nurses and care teams be there for local families when it matters. You can take part by signing up online and once you’ve completed your challenge you’ll be rewarded with a virtual medal!

Hayley Webb, Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice said, “We’d love local people, groups and organisations to join Team Incredible to take on a challenge for this year’s Summer Series. You can be as creative as you like, make it a team effort to complete to take on the Marathon over a month or complete the whole series. Not only will you be getting fit but you’ll experience the feel good factor by helping our care to continue.”

Just an update as to where we are at this time. This year's race won't happen but 2021 will. Anyone already entered will automatically be forwarded to next year's race. Too early to say what the date will be at the moment as the council will have a huge backlog of events in the same position. Thank you for bearing with us.
