‘tis the season for a swim

The Christmas Swims and Festive 100x100s return to Beccles Lido this Christmas!

Join us on Sunday 28th and/or Monday 29th December and swim for up to 4 hours.

Test yourself and swim a standard 100x100s (10k), or a lido 100x100s (12k) for an ultimate test, or just swim for a Xmas social to work off the turkey and trimmings.

We are very pleased to officially launch the River Waveney Wild Swim! 🏞

Out of the pool and into the river! We know there's a community of wild swimmers out there and we're excited to add this new event to our growing calendar as something a little different!

Taking place on Sunday June 29th, embark on a 12km swim in the scenic surrounds of the Broads, starting at Burgh St Peter and finishing at our very own pontoon at the Lido 🏁

This is an event for ages 16+ and we have a relay team option available too 🏊🏻‍♂️🏊‍♀️🏊🏽‍♂️

Our 12 hour endurance swim event went so well we couldn't wait alllll the way until next summer to do another... so we're running a winter one!

This time it will be abit more 'chilled' 😉 but we will heat the water up to 22°C for event day!

There's also no predetermined times or distances, swim as little or as much as you'd like up to 4 hours!

Huge thanks and congratulations to those who came to participate (and spectate) on Saturday at our first Endurance Swim event.

55 participants, aged 13-77 and from Devon, Sussex, Manchester and of course some of our Beccles regulars. From “just having a go” to 2 world champions, we had a brilliant selection of people!

Special mention to Diss Otters and their group of swimmers for taking on and smashing the mile in 30mins challenge.

Here are just a few pictures from the day, with the glorious summer weather appearing especially for the day.

Just over a week to go until our first ever event! Have you signed up to challenge yourself yet? 🫵🏻
Swim half hour intervals for 3, 6 or 12 hours.
We've also lowered the age requirement for the 3 hour swim events to 13 so more people can get involved! Maybe you're a club swimmer fed up of sprints? Maybe you just LOVE swimming for ages 🏊🏻‍♂️
