From 30-seat rooms to major stages, live comedy thrives on its grassroots.

Stand Up & Give is a fund designed to support the people who make those rooms happen - improving working conditions and strengthening the sector from the ground up.

Because great comedy doesn’t start at the top. 🎤

Live comedy works best in the room... but those rooms need support.

Stand Up & Give is the Live Comedy Association’s fund for grassroots comedy across the UK, helping the people and places that keep the circuit alive.

If you’ve ever had a great night at a gig, this is your chance to give something back. 💛

When the industry speaks with one voice, it’s worth listening.

Live Comedy Day brought together venues, managers, broadcasters and promoters around a shared message: grassroots live comedy is a vital part of our cultural and creative economy - and it deserves to be recognised as such.

The support we’ve received has been humbling. And it’s only made us more determined to make 2027 even bigger.

Live Comedy Day doesn’t just happen, it takes a huge amount of work behind the scenes.

Massive thanks to the team who made the inaugural day a reality: Geoff Rowe, Alex Hardy, Dr Sharon Lockyer, and Liam Pape (who he?)

What started as an idea in a WhatsApp group somehow escaped into the real world and turned into a massive nationwide day celebrating live comedy.

The reviews are in… and the first ever Live Comedy Day delivered 🎤

From 30-seat rooms to packed-out theatres, more than 150 comedians and 65 venues came together on 1 April to celebrate live comedy across the UK - and the impact is already being felt.

Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen: promoters, producers, venues, comedians, and audiences.

And we’re not done… Live Comedy Day returns on 1 April 2027.

One of the magical moments of Live Comedy Day 2026…

Down in Bath, Jesters’ Comedy Club pulled off something pretty special: a 12-hour live comedy marathon, capped off in style by John Bishop dropping in.

Powered by community spirit and a brilliantly game lineup of South West performers, the show was a perfect reminder of what live comedy is all about: people, rooms, and shared moments.

This is what Live Comedy Day is all about 💛

This time last week (1 April 2026), we made history.

The inaugural Live Comedy Day became the biggest celebration of live comedy ever... from 30-seat rooms to 3,500-capacity stages, and everywhere in between.

65+ venues.
150+ comedians.
5,850 minutes of live comedy.
With a combined venue capacity of 20,000.

From Brighton to Plymouth, Edinburgh to London, with nights at the Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, The Comedy Store, Glee Clubs, and grassroots gems like The Yellow Book and The Jesters Comedy Club - the UK showed up for live comedy in all its forms.

Last Friday, Live Comedy Day made it to The One Show!

Geoff Rowe (Live Comedy Association) spoke about the comedians who spend years gigging in back rooms and pub basements - working day jobs, going out to perform at night, knowing they may never “make it” in the conventional sense. And about why those spaces, and the people who run them, deserve to be recognised.

Zoe Lyons, headlining at Komedia in Brighton on the night, put it simply: “I wouldn’t have been able to do what I did if it wasn’t for little rooms above pubs, supporting and nurturing new acts.”

That’s what Live Comedy Day exists to celebrate. The grassroots scene that makes everything else possible.
