HALLOWEEN FUN - COMMUNITY DAY OUT!

Come join us for a community Halloween day out at Fonmon Castle! 🎃🏰

We’re going to Fonmon Castle on Friday 30 October, leaving Cadog’s Corner at 9:30am and returning at around 3pm. There’ll be character shows, spooky trails, Haunted Dinos and plenty of family fun!

Tickets are £13 per person, this includes transport and entry.
Under 3s get free entry and pay just £5 for transport.

There are some optional activities at Fonmon at an extra cost and can be booked there.

We’ve got another great week ahead ... good food, good company and plenty going on for everyone.

If you’ve been thinking about getting back into learning, building your confidence or trying something new but don’t really know where to start, come along at 10am on Wednesday and have a chat with the Recovery College. They offer some brilliant FREE adult courses, with absolutely no pressure or commitment, just pop in, have a cuppa and see what might be right for you. 🙌🏻

Hi everyone 🧡

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of our It’s Good to Talk service with Lynne Jones-Therapeutic Mentoring

This has become such an important part of what we offer at Cadog’s Corner, providing free, confidential emotional support and a safe space for people to talk, be heard and feel supported.

The feedback we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive, but more importantly, we’ve seen first-hand the meaningful difference this support is making to people in our community.
And we have some brilliant news… 🙌🏻

We are absolutely delighted to confirm that we have secured further funding to expand the service!

Alongside Lynne’s existing Tuesday appointments, we will now be able to offer appointments on Wednesdays too, giving more people the opportunity to access support when they need it.

A huge thank you to Lynne for the compassion, time and care she brings to this service, and to everyone who has trusted us enough to reach out and talk.

Another huge shout-out to everyone who joined us yesterday for our Good Food Café and Community Voice session! 👌🏻

Sarah and Jo served up a gorgeous roast dinner, and we heard so many lovely compliments and brilliant ideas about what we offer and what could come next.

NatWest also joined us to offer advice and support, and they’ll be returning soon to talk about online scams and how we can keep ourselves safe.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Stay & Play session with Flying Start this morning, what a fantastic start! 🧸❤️ Vale Flying Start

We can’t wait to welcome you all back next week, with even more fun areas for your little ones to explore and enjoy!

And to our Thursday evening crew, thank you for another lovely Creative Kids session with Abby and Jo, alongside gorgeous food prepared by Sarah and Jo. 🎨🍽️

Our first Community Voice session was a great success. We received so many lovely comments about what we’re doing and some brilliant ideas for how our service could develop. Your voice is so important to us, so thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!

We have another Community Voice session tomorrow from 12pm–1pm if you’d like to join us and share your ideas.

Our Good Food Café team will be serving a roast dinner tomorrow, and NatWest will be joining us from 11am with helpful budgeting tips and saving strategies as we head towards Christmas. 🎄💷

Our FREE Stay & Play toddler group with flying start, starts tomorrow at 10am! 🧸

Why not come along early and join us from 9am for coffee and cake or a bacon butty? ☕🥓

Our Good Food Café will also be serving cheese wheels, and pasta bake from 3:30pm alongside our Creative Kids session. 🎨🍝

Then at 4:30pm, join our Community Voice session to chat about Cadog’s Corner, what we’re doing well, what you’d like to see and what comes next.

GOOD 2 SHOP UPDATE + HAVE YOUR SAY!

Hi everyone! We’ve started piloting a new pre-bookable bag scheme alongside our usual Good 2 Shop. We trialled it for the first time today and the feedback has been really positive! 🙌🏻

So for next Wednesday, we’re increasing the offer to 30 pre-bookable bags at £6 each.

Each bag will include:

🥓 Bacon
🌭 Sausages
🥚 Eggs
🥛 Milk
🍞 Bread
♻️ Pasta, rice, tea bags & cereal from our Zero Waste station
🍎 2 x fruit & veg options
⭐ 2 x luxury items

Fruit and veg may vary depending on availability and our FareShare delivery.

If all 30 bags sell out and you would have liked one, please comment below or send us a private message. We really need to know what the demand is so we can look at increasing the number available.

🥩 We’ll also be changing the meat offer over the following two weeks, so keep an eye out for what’s coming next!

This is currently a pilot for September. We want to see whether the interest is there and helpful to you, and whether it’s something we can realistically support and continue longer term.

And remember, this is alongside our normal Good 2 Shop. The shop remains open every Wednesday, 1pm–5pm, where you can pay £6 and choose your own items as usual. You can also pre-book a bag and use the shop when you visit. 🛍️
