Concerteenies

Concerteenies Live music events for 0-7s and their grown-ups: fun, informal, colourful, quality and engaging.

Concerteenies is an award-winning producer of musical events and activities for young children and their adults in Sheffield and beyond. We present concerts, creative music projects, and online events in early years settings (nurseries, schools, childminders), within the community (through venues and care homes), and at home, in addition to providing training and resources. Young children are at t

he heart of our work, with everything we do about bringing generations together to share, enjoy, and have fun through music. Concerts are performed by professional musicians who enjoy sharing their music with people of all ages. Enjoy an eclectic mix of classical, contemporary, pop, folk and jazz with informal introductions to the music and sensory activities to enhance your child's experience (bubbles, puppets, percussion and lots more). All concerts incorporate soft mats, blankets and toys for the children. Mums are welcome to breastfeed during the concert and nappy changing facilities are provided. All children must be accompanied by adults at all times and all adults must be accompanied by at least one child per group! Concerteenies is programmed and organised (and sometimes led and performed) by Polly Ives who has a wealth of experience as a musician and educationalist. She has worked with CBeebies, Music in the Round, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Opera House, National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain, Beatrix Potter Attraction and many more! We ❤️ this fresh perspective on our ‘Inspired By...’ project by illustrator Eva Juusola.

Eva beautifully captured these beautiful moments during the pilot of this new musical programme for children aged 2-3 years and their families in communities across Sheffield.

She sketched children and their grown-ups as they interacted with the music, each other and our musicians Sarah Carroll, Polly Ives and Martin Harwood.

Inspired By... is a three-year project funded by Youth Music, Brelms Trust and St Kieran’s Trust.

It supports children's early development and elevates the place of music in their lives by inspiring and upskilling adults to be their musical play partners.
We have more sessions coming up soon with Sheffield Family Hubs.

📢 Our new Sheffield series starts next week!
Welcome to Tuning In, a musical space where your child can be themselves.
Do you love the idea of live music with your young child, but find typical music groups or performance spaces a bit overwhelming or restrictive?
You are not alone—and you are exactly who we created this for.

Is this for us?
Tuning In is a new, six-week series of live Sheffield music events from Concerteenies, specially designed for 3-5 year olds and their grown-ups. If your child is neurodivergent (including autism, ADHD, diagnosed or undiagnosed) or simply thrives in a more relaxed, understanding environment, this is your space.
There is no ‘right’ way to enjoy music here. Whether your child wants to move, make noise, sit quietly, or explore at their own pace, they are entirely welcome.

What to expect:
- Over six magical weeks, we will create a sensory-aware environment where you and your child can connect with music on your own terms.
- Your Hosts: Lead musician Martin Harwood and creative practitioner Ella-May Thornely.
- Special Guests: We will be joined by three incredible guest musicians throughout the series.
- The Vibe: Relaxed, adapted, deeply supportive, and full of joy.
Come along and let’s enjoy music together - your way.

Spaces are free but limited and start on Monday 8th June at Adventures in Highfield Adventure Playground
