Every year we make a donation to our local school with some of the proceeds from our scarecrow festival.

This year the school have purchased materials to make a small book nook in their reading corner in nursery class.

How cute, we hope the children enjoy it.🥰

For anyone new to our page, we have a different theme each year and think it's only fair that the most important people should choose it......... YOU! Our lovely followers.

So what would you like it to be.....

FAIRY TALES
Once upon a time in a land far far away.......🧚🏻‍♀️👸🏻🐉🔮🏰👑do you prefer the works of Hans Christian Anderson or maybe the brothers grimm.
Cinderella, Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretal or The Three Bears.
Your favourite fairy tale in scarecrow form.

SPOOKY/SCARY/HORROR SCARECROWS
Ghosts and ghouls, Witches and zombies and all things that go bump in the night, Let's turn the village into a scary,spooky horror themed festival👻🕷️🧟‍♀️🦇🧌🏚️

OCCUPATIONS
What did you want to be when you were growing up? Maybe you are already doing your dream job/career. This is one you can get the kids involved with and ask them what they'd love to be when they grow up, then all help create a scarecrow version together. 👩🏻‍🏫👩🏻‍🚒👮🏻‍♀️👩🏻‍⚖️🏗️🏥✈️🏊🏻‍♀️👩🏻‍🎤

SEASONS
Autumn/winter/spring/summer
Create a scarecrow that brings your favourite season to life. Maybe summer to you is laying by a pool cocktail in hand, winter is snow ball fights or Christmas shopping, Autumn is cozy season or Halloween, Spring is April showers, Easter bunny or flowers and trees starting to bloom. ❄️⛸️☃️🌰🍁🍂🎃⛱️☀️🌊🍉🍦☔🌦️🌱🌷🍃🌼🐣🐇🐰

Drum roll please🥁

The winners of the The South Hiendley Scarecrow Festival 2026 as voted by you the public are....

In 3rd place with scarecrow number 9 "Acrobat" by Debbie Jones 🥉

In 2nd place with scarecrow number 37 was "Tallest Man" by Amy Clarke 🥈

And in 1st place with scarecrow number 4 "Madagascar circus" was Sandra foster 🥇

Parish council choice was Ashtons "amazing digital circus" scarecrow.

The saying it's not about winning but about the taking part is especially significant for our scarecrow festival, when you enter a display you help to bring a community together, you help us to provide a low cost day for all the family to enjoy, you help put smiles on the faces of each and every one of the people who visited our festival.

Well done to everyone👏
