Banchory 100 Seven dads from Banchory take on a gruelling 100km ultra marathon to raise funds and awareness for those affected by brain injuries.

Why are we doing this? Quite simply to raise funding for 3 places that do amazing work with brain injury survivors, but that could always do more if they had the resources.

This video of Morag's rehabilitation shows just some of the bits of equipment that helped her along the way, not to mention the amazing people that worked with her. And that's just the physiotherapy part of it, there was also speech and occupational therapy support throughout. Without these, Mo wouldn't have had the amazing recovery that she did.

24hrs till Banchory 100 gets under way Friday @ 10pm KGV and the start of our Banchory 100 challenge, just over 100K & 3000m elevation over the hills surrounding Banchory. The training is over & the phantom niggles are real.

The purpose is to raise money for 3 brain charities & organisations who provide vital support to people who have suffered brain injuries, primarily aiding their rehabilitation. It is a cause that is very personal to one of our team, Martin. You can read our story on our givewheel page. All donations greatly appreciated 👍

We also have a tracker for all those that like to dot watch to see how we are progressing and wants to find us to come and cheer us on or even run a little bit with us.

The route: -
We will leave KGV in Banchory at 10pm Friday night, and after meandering past our homes in Hill of Banchory (feel free to give us a shout out prob between 10-10.20pm) we will head out to Raemoir. From there its up over the Hill of Fare and then down into Torphins.
Torphins - Kinker - Potarch - Shooting Greens - Feughside Inn where after a short bit we will branch off the road and up Clachnaben (hopefully for sunrise)
Clachnaben down to Glen Dye and then up the back of Kerloch before forest tracks to Durris Mast car park.
Up the road to Cairn mon Earn then down the backroads to Knockburn turn off and then up to Rhinbuckie, along to Strachan then up to base of Scolty before branching off for an out and back to hill of Gaouch then the final ascent to Scolty (will any of us manage to climb the tower?)
From there its down the back and onwards to a cold beer at KGV.
Aim is to hopefully finish 12-2pm but keep an eye on the tracker and social media.

Great morning for the Banchory 100 team supporting the fantastic community event, the hill of banchory fun run. As always, brilliantly organised.

It was an opportunity to promote our event & get some pics for the P&J. The "Dads & kids" also got the chance to show off their new Banchory 100 t-shirts.
