Join us for an evening of discovery celebrating the overlooked voices of island women during the war.

This special event shares the findings of a recent research project that delved deep into our collections, uncovering powerful and often forgotten stories of women’s lives, work, and resilience in wartime island communities.

Hear from Anne Frater, our Reader‑in‑Residence, who will reflect on her journey through our collection and the stories that emerged along the way. Explore new artwork by Moira Maclean, created in response to Anne’s research, and view striking images that now form part of a national touring exhibition, connecting this local project to similar work happening across the country.
An evening of stories, art, and reflection, this event invites us to see our collections, and our history, in a new light.

This event is supported by Future AFuture Arts Centresunding from the Arts Council of England and Luach Festival.
