MARS Badminton Horse Trials winner to take home £125,000.

The 77th year of the MARS Badminton Horse Trials is marked by a boost in prize money. First prize will be £125,000.
As befits the world's most prestigious five-star horse trials, this is the largest first prize and prize fund in the sport of eventing. The overall prize fund for the top 20 finishers has been raised to £451,500.
"This is fantastic news," said defending champion Ros Canter. "Badminton is the horse trials that everyone in the world has heard of and is the one we all desperately want to win. I can't wait to come back and try again."

Our story

Badminton Horse Trials takes place in early May each year and is staged within the beautiful grounds of the Badminton Estate in South Gloucestershire (UK).

Wednesday is the first day of the ticketed event with our array of over 500 tradestands opening for business, the International competition kicking off with the horse inspection in the afternoon.

The event continues with Dressage on the Thursday and Friday before the thrills and spills of the Cross Country phase on the Saturday. Sunday is the culmination of the competition and is a Show Jumping test over knock down arena jumps.
