***RECRUITING NOW***

This is a shout out to pipers and drummers in the Ayrshire area and beyond.

The band is now currently in grade 4a due to the combination of a difficult couple of seasons and the departure of many players moving on to fresh challenges, which has left our ranks depleted.

To this end we are looking to speak to new people with a view to joining us to enable us to take our place on the competition field for 2026.

We want to hear from pipers, snare, and tenor/bass drummers who have experience of band competition.
Unfortunately we don't have the capacity to take on any learners at this moment.

If anyone is interested in joining, please contact us via Facebook messenger, where all enquiries will be treated with confidence.

Thank you.

This evening Pipe Major Phil and his daughter Melissa are attending the Pebbles Care Young Persons Awards, held at the Lochside House Hotel in New Cumnock, where they have the pleasure of piping in this year's young award winners to the venue.

After a difficult couple of seasons, with several players moving on to pastures new, the band has been regraded to grade 4A and is actively looking to recruit pipers, snare, bass and tenor drummers to rebuild our ranks and prepare for the 2026 season.

Any players who are looking for a fresh start and wish to try a new challenge in a new band, or wish to return to playing in a band after having a break, please drop us a message via FB messenger or speak to a band member. All enquiries will be treated in confidence.

Our practice nights are Monday and Wednesday evenings, 7:30 - 9:30 pm adjacent to Ayr Town Hall.

The band was out this evening to play a short programme of music for a private function at Glenapp Castle, near Ballantrae. It was a pleasure playing at the venue again and entertaining the guests in such an atmospheric setting.

Our AGM will be on Monday 6th of October in the band hall.

RECRUITING NOW FOR 2026.

As the 2025 season is rapidly coming to its conclusion, the band is getting underway with preparations for the 2026 season and with that in mind, we are looking for new players to join our ranks.

We are keen to hear from experienced pipers and drummers who ideally would have played at grade 3 level and would be interested in joining us for next season and beyond.

If you are returning to playing after a break or wish to change bands for a fresh challenge, please contact us via the band Facebook messenger and we will get right back to you. All correspondence will be treated in confidence.

Thank you.

Good luck to our young team - Melissa Leary, Mason Morrison and Logan Wallace - who are waiting on Nat 5 and Higher exam results today. Fingers crossed you all get the results you're hoping for.

Due to unforeseen circumstances outwith our control, unfortunately the band has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the remainder of the 2025 competition season.

It is a decision that we didn't take lightly and we would like to thank all of the players in the band for their effort and dedication over last winter and the season thus far. We would also like to thank family members, friends and followers of the band for their support and good wishes for the season.

The band will be taking a break for a few weeks where we will be recuperating and cheering on the other bands in the Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway branch, before we start the process of preparing for the 2026 season. During this time we will be keen to make contact with pipers and drummers who would be interested in joining our ranks for our journey into 2026 and beyond.

Thanks to everybody for their kind messages of support and best of luck to all of the bands for the rest of the season, we will see you all on the grass next year.
