Please come and join Arundel Town Council on Saturday at 11am for the postponed Community Awards 2025. This will take place in Tarrant Square with the presentation of the awards followed by some community carols.

This will be during Arundel Farmers Market which is the busiest and loveliest one of the year! So please do come and support the market, dine in one of the local cafes and restaurants, visit some of the amazing independent shops we have and pop along to the Community Awards to hear about the amazing volunteers we are lucky to have and then belt out a few carols ❤️🎄

Please join us this Saturday (20th December) in Tarrant Square for our 2025 Community Awards Presentation. The Mayor, Cllr Carolyn Kenney, will present the awards at 11am followed by a carol sing-a-long. We will also display the lovely willow lanterns made during the workshop in November before our sadly-cancelled Arundel’s Victorian Christmas.

The Community Awards are such an important part in our annual calendar of events, recognising the amazing groups, young people and individuals who make such a positive difference to life in Arundel, so we hope you can all join us to congratulate the very worthy winners who give so much to the town.

This will be during the Christmas Arundel Farmers Market so please do come and support all the traders in the market and the town.

Through a joint initiative by Arundel Castle, Arun District Council, Arundel Lido and Arundel Town Council, free festive parking will be available on Saturday 6th December and Saturday 13th December.
This applies to the following car parks:

• Mill Road Car Park
• Crown Yard Car Park

It was an impossibly difficult decision to make yesterday afternoon in the still, crisp sunshine to trust the weather forecast that predicted gusty winds and cold rain. Months of hard work, amazing involvement by the traders of Arundel and the support of so many local businesses and residents. Volunteers signed up, musicians and entertainers ready to go, lanterns made, shops and restaurants stocked up and ready - it is so disappointing… but we are also relieved that it was the right call!

Arundel still looks pretty….but from inside today. We hope you all stay warm, safe and dry and we hope to bring some of the things planned to Arundel Farmers Market on 20th December especially the Community Awards. 🌲❤️

Regrettably, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Arundel’s Victorian Christmas event and tree lighting tomorrow (Friday 5 December) due to the forecast of high winds and heavy rain. We are so sorry for any inconvenience and share your disappointment – this is an important event for the town and was to be the start of Arundel’s Christmas festivities.

There is a late night shopping event planned for December 11th and we welcome everyone to visit and enjoy the beautiful Christmas Angel window displays created by our local businesses, which add to the festive magic of our town.

We will reschedule the Community Awards, lantern procession and some other elements of the event to Saturday 20th December during and after the Arundel Farmers Market in Tarrant Square.
