The Appledore & Instow Regatta is a celebration of all things maritime with a week of events organised for all to enjoy and where possible are encouraged to take part and have fun. Various events are organised throughout the Regatta week including:

Regatta Opening Day, Art Show, Crabbing Competition, Fishing Competition, Flour Battle, Sailing Boat Race, Gig Boat Racing, Greasy Pole, Model Yacht R

acing, Outboard Motor Race, Pilot Gig Race, Rowing, Sculling over the stern and the Tug of War, with a variety of other activities and local stall holders. As with previous years, the ongoing support from the RNLI - Appledore Lifeboat Crews will be ever present during the Regatta and we thank them for their continued support. ⛵ Appledore & Instow Regatta – Model Yacht Race Update ⛵

Ahoy sailors!
Due to tomorrow’s weather forecast 🌧️💨 we’ve decided to delay the Model Yacht Race until Sunday 10th, starting at 12 noon from Badstep (Appledore Lifeboat Station).
We hope everyone who was planning to take part – and all our wonderful helpers – can still join us.

The carnival doesn’t start until 4 pm, so there’s no clash – you can enjoy both! 🎉

We’re looking forward to friendlier sailing conditions and a great day on the water. Thanks for your understanding, and see you Sunday!

🚗 Regatta Parking at Skern Lodge – Supporting Northam Lions Youth FC! 🦁⚽

Heading to the Regatta today? Great news! There’s signposted parking available at Skern Lodge, just a short walk into the heart of the village. 🏞️

You’ll be met by the friendly faces of our Northam Lions Youth Football Club volunteers, who are helping out and raising vital funds for their club. 💛💙

After recently relaunching with a passionate new youth committee and coaches, the Lions are rebuilding from the ground up—starting with our brand-new Under 12s team and exciting plans to grow more age groups soon!

Today, we’re asking for a small donation for parking to support:
✅ Referee fees
✅ Winter training sessions
✅ Equipment, kits, and facilities for the kids

One of our young players from Appledore asked if we could get involved with the Regatta—and we thought, what better way to kick off the new season and connect with our community?

We believe in equal opportunities for all children and are always welcoming new players and families into the Lions family. 🫶⚽
