We are all eagerly anticipating our final concert of the season on Sunday 2nd April. The inimitable, sparkling bundle of musical energy and fun that is Bradley Creswick will come out to play with his friends Roberto Carrillo-Garcia (double bass and guitar) and pianist Gemma Beeson, just for us. As charismatic leader of the Royal Northern Sinfonia for so many years, Bradley earned his place in the hearts of thousands of concert-goers, many of whom we expect to follow him to Appleby on this particular Sunday. Your scribe had a preview of some of this trio's programme in the intimate setting of Bobik's in Newcastle last summer and the synergy between the musicians on stage was electrifying, exemplified in their delivery of works by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla with rhythms so sharp they could draw blood.
