Lauren & Tom’s Wedding at the Gregg School, Townhill Park, Southampton
Saturday May 31st.
What a wonderful day and a very hot one too, such a pleasure to provide my entertainment services for them on their wedding day.
I arrived at 1.30pm to set up while the ceremony took place in the garden and then changed ready to welcome the guests into the hall and introduce the new Mr & Mrs Goss.
Once the formalities were over, the guests enjoyed a lovely barbecue and then the speeches. Maid of Honour Sarah spoke first with a few words from her young daughter😂, never give the microphone to children😂🤣, it was then over the Lauren’s father Paddy, I’ve known Paddy a long time and he pointed out and reminded me that in 1985 it was me in around about way that got him and his wife Steph together when I was DJing a party in Upper Clatford, who’d have thought that this day all started 41 years ago😎, Tom’s brother in law Chris was the best man and his speech reminded Tom of some past misdemeanors 🤣. Tom then took to the mic, thanking everyone for coming and his new wife for marrying him.
Speeches done and time for desert in the garden and room cleared and ready for the evening party.
We held the cake cut and first dance back a few minutes due to the weather and the fact we were running a little late but at 7pm the first dance took place with Lauren and Tom dancing beautifully to ‘Man I need’ Olivia Dean, they had obviously taken lessons, guests then joined them on the floor for a couple of songs before everyone made the most of the Sunny warm evening.
I had installed a speaker outside so at least the music in the room was being transmitted outside aswell and they seemed to enjoy the tracks I played. The father daughter dance was played once Lauren had changed into something more comfortable and ‘Sweet Soul Music’ Arthur Conley was cued up.
What a Father/Daughter dance, probably the best one I’ve seen in all my years of DJing. Wow!
The evening ended with a flurry on the Dancefloor with the final songs of Greatest Day and what a wonderful world finishing the day off.
So what an enjoyable day, the weather, the guests, the venue staff and of course the newly weds, Tom and Laura.
Wishing them many happy years of love, laughter, Fun and happiness together❤️
