Drumragh Summer Festival

Hi Everyone - we have been quietly working away planning another great event at Drumragh GFC.

On 27th June 2015, Drumragh Sarsfields GAC will attempt to set a new world record for the “Most Players in a Gaelic Football Exhibition Match”.

Would you like to be a world record holder?? People of all abilities and all ages are invited to come along and participate.

Exclusive Commemorative T-Shirts for those who take part will help you prove that you are indeed a world record holder!

Why not get your own club (regardless of what sport you play) to come along and take part - team sponsorship packs are available which enable you to raise money for YOUR OWN club in the lead up to the world record.

For those who can't take part in the game can come along and enjoy the entertainment on and off the field.

Folks this weekend sees another local club hosting their own festival (we don't envy you by the way). Loughmacrory's new OW Arena played host to some of the worlds top handball stars last weekend and this weekend the same arena will be transformed in to a music venue. Local band The Whistling Donkeys will be the main attraction tonight, so go along if you can for what promises to be a great nights craic.

As the clean-up nears an end it brings to a close a hugely successful inaugural (which would suggest that there will be more!!!) Drumragh Summer Festival. The objective of the weekend was to raise some funds to help complete the development programme at Clanabogan Park. We will be able to help with the planned work thankfully, but more importantly and harder to measure; the festival has further contributed to the already high levels of community and club spirit that exists at Drumragh. As Barry McElduff said on Saturday night "it has been emotional" - but let’s hope that Drumragh GFC kicks on again from this weekend and continues to contribute significantly to our local area both on and off the pitch!

What a fantastic night we all had at Drumragh Does Strictly! Well done to all the Dancers who took to the stage and to our eventual winners Jimmy Campbell & Ursula O'Neill. Also a huge thanks to our judges, Siobhan Gormley, Alec Kyle, Maggie Quinn & Barry McElduff who were all kept in order by the very capable Noel McGinn. Thanks to our bar staff, floor staff, car park stewarts, sound and lighting team, video crew and everyone else back stage who helped make the night a success. Last but not least, the Drumragh Summer Festival Committee would like to acknowledge the huge support shown by all of you who attended the event and created such a wonderful atmosphere!! It makes it all worthwhile when everyone has a brilliant night.

Important notice, doors open tonight for Drumragh Does Strictly at 7pm. We will be closing the doors just ahead of our first dance act at 8pm. Please take your seats early as admission will be only during breaks after 8pm.
