Langdale Gala

Langdale Gala Traditional Village Gala - Sunday 5th July 2026 Langdale Gala is a traditional Cumbrian event held at the New Dungeon Ghyll, Great Langdale, LA22 9JX.

It is on the first Sunday of July, Langdale Gala features many sporting events including a junior / senior fell race, children’s flat races, Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling and much more. There will also be a dog show, children's fancy dress, novelty competitions, craft stalls, music and food and drink for all. We pride ourselves on bringing all the small communities of the South Lakeland for a pleasurable day (come rain or shine!). The main aim of the Langdale Gala, apart from having a fun filled day is to support the local community with the funds we make.
