And ‘that’s a wrap’ - thanks to everyone who came and ran, supported and ate cake at this
morning’s race. Ideal conditions for running and many PBs obtained. The race won by Remi Clifford from Derby Athletic Club in a fantastic 34:08 with Hayley Gill of Mansfield Harriers & Ac being the First Lady in an equally fantastic 36:13. Parking for tomorrow’s event is at Rolls Royce at the junction of Merrill Way, Wilmore Road and Victory Road - there will be signs out directing you back to the race village which is an approx 10 mins walk. There will be NO parking at the race village and we request for the safety of runners and with courtesy to local residents you do not park on the local roads (especially Jubilee Road which forms part of the race route). There is also a road closure in Chellaston on Derby Road this weekend which has a detour via Maple Drive/Sutton Avenue. Thank you

Don’t forget we have a fun run after the main race tomorrow. Start time 11am, 3k distance, £3 entry with all proceeds going to our charity for this year ‘The Hardy Group’. Sign up is from 9.30am in the event village at Boulton Lane Community Centre

ADVANCE WARNING - ROAD CLOSURE - SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER

To enable the safe running of this years Shelton Striders 10K event, Infinity Park Way will be closed from the Wilmore Road junction to the Dundas Way roundabout (in the direction of Chellaston only) between 9.15 and 10.30 on Sunday morning. As soon as all runners have left the road and re-joined the pavement/cycle path. our traffic management company will start to re-open the road.

In addition please expect heavier foot traffic than normal (we have 400 runners signed up) on the old canal path between Boulton Lane and Infinity Way (also including Sinfin Moor Lane between Infinity and the canal path crossing) between 9.30 (race start) and 10.45.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience - why not come out on route and support the runners as they go past….. we’ve also got our charity cake stall and refreshments in the race village at Boulton Lane Community Centre and our 3k fun run (which starts at 11am and is entry on the day only from 9.30am)

With less than 8 hours to go, and after a huge surge this week we are now at a post-Covid record level and closing in on 400 runners. If you’re still on the fence, look at the PB potential weather we’ve ordered for Sunday morning. A bit cooler than seen at Wilne 10k last month 🥵.
