What a wonderful concert by Irina, and what a privilege to hear some of the music on my guitars. Thank you Irina and West Sussex Guitar Club.

What a fantastic concert given for the West Sussex Guitar Club by internationally acclaimed classical guitarist Irina Kulikova. A mesmerising performance and a fresh, innovative programme featuring old favourites but also many pieces written especially for Irina by contemporary composers; Peter Stewart, Vincent Lindsey-Clark, Jorge Cardoso, Eduardo Diaz, Sergio Ercole and Nemanja Bogunovic.
Irina performed on three beautifully crafted guitars made by luthier Stuart Christie. Stuart gave an interesting introduction to each beforehand; a spruce and Santos rosewood based on Francisco Tarrega's own Torres guitar from 1888, a spruce and cypress guitar based on a modified Jose Romanillos design and a spruce and Indian rosewood based on a Santos Hernandez guitar from 1935. Irina's own guitar was made by Italian luthier Andrea Tacchi
As Irina started playing them they each sounded different for a few moments but within seconds she found her magical touch and they all resonated with her own special sound. Thank you Irina for inspiring us and to Stuart Christie for bringing his finely crafted guitars.
