Today, we come together as a nation to remember the brave souls who have given their lives so that we may experience the freedom and luxuries we have today. is a time to reflect on their sacrifices, remind ourselves to be thankful for everything we have. For those who leave never to return and for those who return but are never the same - we remember.

Trick or treat, smell my feet, breast cancer is gonna get beat!

It’s spooky pink day here in our Alton office. A day of bake sales , pink couture, and lots of spooky season games. We’re doing it all to support Disastercare’s very own James Glancy in his fundraising campaign for Breast cancer now!

Happy Diwali to all those celebrating!

Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists. It’s the biggest celebration in india, and the most important to many around the world.

Known as a festival of lights, Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over darkeness and the human ability to overcome.

For Hindus it honours the return of Prince Rama of Ayodhya, his wife, Sita, and brother, Laksham, from a 14-year long exile and a battle against King Ravana that Prince Rama won.

For Jains it is the day when Lord Mahavira, the last of the jain Tirthankaras achieved nirvana.

For Sikhs, it marks the freeing of Guru Hargobind, the sixth guru, from emperor Jahangir.

And for Buddhists, it is commemorated as Ashok Vijayadashami, the day the great emperor Ashoka embraced Buddhism as his faith.

Today is world menopause day! An important transition for woman aged between 45 and 55. Some symptoms are mild, but we can all do more to raise awareness and offer support to our loved ones experiencing it.

“The menopause has gone mainstream and after the deafening silence surrounding it for so long, that change is very welcome. The recent influx of information and misinformation can however be overwhelming and confusing and there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution.”

Well done DisasterCare Red Dragon, that really is a result. Wedding dress restoration one of our favourite jobs in all our locations…

Another outstanding transformation form the team. This vintage wedding dress was yellowed and stained. The atmosphere had spent years degrading the colour. Another validation that restore is better than landfill. All our wedding dresses are returned in either a non woven wedding dress cover or in acid free tissue paper in a wedding box the choice is yours .

The Ninth award was to Steve Lounds of DisasterCare East Midlands who was presented with the Top Dog Award.

Steve had a skip in his step as he came up to collect his second award of the day. Steve and his team have demonstrated operational excellence with a keen focus on customer service and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The last but by no means least, the eleventh award was to Andy Townend and he was presented with Head Office Support Person of the Year.

Andy has made a real difference within Finance and the wider business. Andy bears the brunt of most of the Finance-related queries, which he always deals with swiftly and without complaining.

Andy continuously demonstrates a great attitude towards continuous improvement and is always looking to find solutions to problems.

Congratulations Andy, we are all really proud of how well you have stepped up and supported everyone.
