This weekend! Victoria Day returns on Saturday 6 June from 10am to 4pm, transforming Aldershot town centre into a world of folklore, fairy tales and family fun. We’re ready for a magical day filled with storybook surprises from around the world!

Whimsical Woodland Fairies

Look to the treetops - and the pavements! - as our Woodland Fairies prance through town atop their beautiful enchanted deer. Expect fluttering wings, pockets full of mischief, and surprising moments of magic wherever they roam. Catch a fairy-tale selfie before they disappear back into the forest!

Calling all young knights, warrior maidens, princes and princesses - a dragon stirs! Step into a realm where magic meets steel, where the brave are tested, and where legend roars to life. Meet the extraordinary Department of Dreams! This magical storytelling installation is bursting with imagination — drawers of destiny to open, artifacts of inspiration to uncover, and a time-twisting mirror that just might reveal your tomorrow. Help the dream designers, the architects of inspiration, and the mappers of possibility plan out futures full of wonder, then send a postcard to your future self through the most marvellous machine in the realm. The Post Office is open between 10am and 4pm on Wellington Street.

The Shed of Stories – sponsored by Prospect

Overnight, a mysterious little shed appears… and when the doors swing open, stories tumble out, music spills into the air, and imagination sweeps through the crowd. This enchanting pop-up venue offers joyful story sessions throughout the day — and between performances, it transforms into a cosy family reading nook, complete with books and surprises waiting to be discovered. Stories take place in Princes Gardens throughout the day.

Stories take place near the bottom of Union Street throughout the day.

Have a spellbinding time with Steamship Circus in their Little Big Tent at Victoria Day on 6 June from 12.30-4pm, where you can try your hand at plate spinning, diablos, juggling, unicycling — and even the aerial hoop! Leap into the fun in Princes Gardens and discover a world of circus magic and marvellous make‑believe.

🤹‍♂️ Juggle Jake’s Circus Skills
Step into the story and join Juggle Jake at Union Yard, where you can test your balance, bravery and circus flair. While you’re there, explore community stalls hosted by local charities, each sharing the stories and work they bring to our town.

Enjoy a host of FREE activities at Victoria Day on 6 June! Children can get hands‑on with magical craft creations, build their own Lego monsters, and wave hello to the busy bees in their hives. Visitors can enjoy a treasure trove of free family activities, over 60 craft and community stalls and whimsical live performances inspired by tales old and new.

Across the town centre, a lively mix of activities awaits. Encounter a fire‑breathing dragon, marvel at a bubble wizard, watch mythical street performers, discover magical make‑and‑take crafts, enjoy gentle storytelling, build your own Lego monster and get creative with face painting.

Step into the enchanting Shed of Stories, where interactive tales, music and laughter fill the air before the space transforms into a cosy pop-up library between sessions. Nearby, the Steamship Circus zone invites budding acrobats, jugglers and fearless adventurers to explore a world of circus skills and high-flying fun.

Visitors can also write a message to their future selves at the Post Office of Possibilities, meet community organisations and enjoy live music and dance across two stages, alongside delicious world street food stalls.

The highlight of the day is the spectacular fairy‑tale carnival parade, brimming with dazzling costumes and story‑inspired characters. The parade celebrated Aldershot and the unique stories of people from near and far who shape this vibrant community. The procession leaves Princes Hall at 11am and makes its way to the High Street multi‑storey car park, led by Aldershot’s own Queen Victoria, Betty Bryce, guiding a lively parade of more than 1,000 local people.
