Abergavenny Arts Festival celebrates the arts in their broadest sense and aims to be as inspiring, inclusive, diverse and affordable as possible. The Festival showcases amateur and professional artists from the vibrant local arts scene as well as inviting some exciting talent and interest from further afield. We hope local residents, community groups, schools, businesses and visitors of all ages a
nd artistic tastes will join in the fun at the Festival. Whether you don’t usually like to get involved in 'arty events’ or if you regularly support the arts, we’re pretty sure there’ll be something going on for you to enjoy. Abergavenny is at the heart of a beautiful area, surrounded by hills and rivers. We hope to include painting, dance, drawing, sculpture, jewellery, collage, felting, theatre, photography, performance, film, poetry, pottery, procession, ceramics, music and comedy as well as site-responsive art, singing, street art, knitting and some experimental art work - you can find exapmles of these in the craft stalls, the workshops and in the Window Art Trail (this runs from June 1st to 16th). There may be some surprises too..! As well as exhibitions and performances, there will be plenty of opportunities to ‘have a go’ with workshops and short ‘make it/take it’ sessions. To keep us all fed and watered, we have booked some delicious street food, suitable for all dietary requirements! (For those who don’t know Abergavenny and are thinking of coming along, this welcoming and bustling market town is at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. There’s very good local accommodation and shopping, a wide range of heritage attractions and outdoor activities, and easy access both by public transport and the major roads network.) The Abergavenny Arts Festival is being facilitated by Arts Abergavenny, a committee of volunteers as a non-profit CIC. It is supported by a growing network of artists, community groups, businesses, sponsors and friends who are passionate about the arts. All proceeds will be reinvested in the next Festival and other related activities. If you'd like to come along to the Festival, why not put the date in your diary now and bookmark this site.
