We all love swimming, that's why we are here! What we don't love so much is the changing after your swim in the cold and fumbling around with your swimming bag because your fingers are numb!

We're delighted to welcome Lee from Wildchanger bags to Loch Tay and Loch Morlich this year. She was so fed up with the after swim change that she designed the Wild Changer to overcome those problems. It's your chance to see the bags in the flesh and see how they work. Amazing!

One thing we often get asked at Go Swim is: “Does everyone start at once?”

The answer is no, we don’t use mass starts.

Instead, swimmers are set off in small waves throughout the event. This helps create a calmer, more relaxed experience in the water and gives everyone a little more space to settle into their swim. Our wave start system is designed to help make the experience safer, smoother and more enjoyable for everyone.

From the family-friendly 250m swims right through to the longer distances, we want you to feel confident when you enter the water.

Our first countdown starts here! Only 12 weeks until we head to Loch Tay to start the Go Swim series of 2026!

We have a NEW retailer joining us this year at Go Swim Loch Lomond! We're delighted to welcome Warmcor to the Event Village.

They have a wide range of swimming accessories and gorgeous swim suits. They are famous for their Warmcor tube for getting changed after swimming - less faffing about and more about getting warmer quicker.

Go Swim Loch Tay will see a big change this year as we are now starting on the beach at Kenmore.

We are still finalising all the details but it will be a deep water start near the Isle of Spar. The various courses will be communicated in your Athlete Guide sent out nearer to the time and we will keep updating here on the page.

This will make it easier for your supporters to hang out and watch you swim from the beach. We are also looking to develop our Event Village at Kenmore Recreation Ground so watch this space.

Badges! Who loves collecting them?

Helen from Adventure Shenanigans is back for 2026 with some new badges for you to collect. We love this year's design. We will let you see the real deal as soon as they are ready!

Helen will be at all three swims this year with her wide range of badges, not just Go Swim badges, so make sure you pay her a visit. She loves to chat all things swimming and badges!

Let's be honest, one of the concerns about taking a charity place at an event is committing to the fundraising total.

But our collaboration with SAMH is very different as they have low fundraising targets across the swims. From raising £100 for the 250 metre swim up to £400 for the 10km swim, we think you'll agree that these are very achievable. And don't forget you will receive a half price entry into your chosen event and loads of support from the lovely people at SAMH.

If you prefer to pay for your own entry, you can still fundraise for SAMH, with no minimum target to meet! One of the goals for the charity is to raise awareness of SAMH so you will be helping tremendously with that.

As we love the outdoors so much here at Go Swim, we were delighted to be able to offer a little helping hand to Venture Scotland. This is a small charity who offer help to young people (16-30) to regain their confidence through outdoor activities. They also support adults over 18 with mental health and addiction issues.

The evidence is increasingly clear that being outdoors is great for mental health but it's not always accessible to everyone. That's where Venture Scotland come in, setting up experiences for young people.

We have offered them some places in Go Swim this year for their young people to take part so find out more on this blog on our website.

SAMH remains our official charity partner but there is a nice synergy between both organisations working towards improving mental health.

If you're not quite ready for the 10km swim, then how about the 5km swim? It's a great stepping stone if you are gradually working your way up to a 10km.

We consider it the half marathon of swimming. It's definitely a challenge but imagine how good you will feel when it is done!

All our swims have the 5k option so join us if you want an extra challenge this year.
