This morning we headed out to explore more potential festival venues across Aberdeenshire, including the beautiful visitor centre at Forvie National Nature Reserve.

Such an inspiring space and perfectly aligned with one of the new pieces currently being developed for the festival ๐Ÿชถ๐ŸŒฑ

If youโ€™re local to the area or visiting the coast soon, itโ€™s absolutely worth stopping by!

Join artist Maja Zeฤ‡o for a special Geothermal Soundwalk this Friday at Aberdeen University.โ
โ
Tickets are sold out but you can join the waiting list via the link - https://www.ticketsource.com/wayword-festival/geothermal-soundwalk/e-zkmpvy
โ
In partnership with Way Word Festival, this soundwalk will be led by artist Maja Zeฤ‡o in response to the Aberdeen Geothermal Feasibility Pilot taking place at the university. To begin, Zeฤ‡o will lead participants on a journey around the campus, exploring sounds above and below the ground through a facilitated listening process. This will mimic the ways in which the Geothermal pilot utilises seismic nodes to listen to the city above ground, as well as vibrations deep below ground via an instrumented borehole drilled to a depth of over 500 metres.โ
โ
Following the walk, there will be talks from researchers behind the pilot exploring how its findings could potentially lead to low-carbon heating solutions in the city, and from Peacock & the worm Curator, Rachel Grant, who will discuss related themes from the The Attuning Zone exhibition on display at Peacock & the worm from Saturday 2 May to Saturday 4 July, exploring Zeฤ‡oโ€™s earlier soundwalks in St Fittickโ€™s Park. Throughout the workshop, there will be opportunities for participants to ask questions and reflect.โ
โ
Our current exhibition 'The Attuning Zone' is open at the Worm, 11 Castle St Wednesday to Saturday, 12 - 5pm each day. Entry is always free. โ

sound has signed an open letter to the new Scottish Parliament elected to make sure a basic income for artists pilot is delivered.

A pilot for a basic income for artists offers a meaningful opportunity to better understand how financial security could support creative practice, strengthen the wider cultural sector, and enable more sustainable careers.

Basic Income Network Scotland

A new Scottish Parliament has been elected. Now is the moment. We must make sure a basic income for artists pilot is delivered in this Parliament. The SNP have been re-elected. They said if this happened they would deliver a basic income for artists pilot. Over 300 artists, arts organisations, acade...
