March is .

March is also the month that the Just Giving Page officially closes.

After hundreds of training miles, two ultra marathons, two marathons and a trek up Snowdon, we have raised £5,550 for the The Brain Tumour Charity

It's more than I ever thought possible ❤️

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and supported.

If you would like to boost the fundraising total before the page closes (March 31st) there is still time to donate: https://justgiving.com/fundraising/run-for-paddy

With your support we can transform brain tumour research, treatment, care, and diagnosis.

Personal thank yous to everyone who cheered me home on the ultra 50 mile run, to the Gwasg Pia Cyfyngedig team for your generous donation and my awesome team mates at Micky Morris Racing Team for your company on all those training runs. You guys rock!

Paddy would be proud ❤️

I made it!

The Dragon 50 Ultra marathon
Kenfig to Cardiff Bay
50 miles / 105,471 steps
9 Hours 37 mins
3rd Lady 🎉

What a truly emotional journey.

Hundreds of training miles, two trail marathons, an epic and icy 34 mile ultra, a trek to the top of Snowdon....and finally; completing the Dragon 50 Ultra marathon.

Huge thanks for all the wonderful messages of support, lovely stories of Paddy and of course, your fantastic donations. I couldn't have done this without you!

So many people came out to watch and support yesterday. It made my heart smile to see so many friendly faces on route. The race finish was incredibly special and is a memory that I will cherish.

Every step and every donation has been in memory of Paddy. If you are able to share this page or make a donation it makes a huge difference in the fight against brain tumours.

Summer Solstice ☀️

Running the triple Pen combo; Pen Cerrig Calch, Pen Allt Mawr & Pen Gloch-y-Pibwr

An evening well spent with Mynydd Du Runners; learning new routes, climbing more hills and catching another fantastic sunset!

Well, that was electrifying!

The Brain Tumour Charity By Night 2023. It was hot, humid and stormy (with a thunder & lightning storm to celebrate our arrival at the summit ⛈️😳⚡).

The weather really tested us but it only made the scenery (and challenge) even more spectacular. We were rewarded with some truly incredible views, a partial sunset and stars through the mist and clouds.

It was equally special to complete the climb with a fantastic bunch of people who have all been affected by brain tumours.

That makes us all stormtroopers now, right?

It has been a year since we lost Paddy. When I saw this event, I knew it would be a special way of marking the anniversary.

This Saturday I am climbing the highest peak in Wales (Snowdon) with The Brain Tumour Charity . And it's a whopping 1085m high!

As well as testing my endurance and hill climbing capabilities, we will be setting off in the early evening, making the journey to the summit to watch the sun set (another firm Paddy favourite activity) before making the return trip to base in the dark.

Whilst it's important to make it to the top and back down again, I am also hoping (with a little bit of your help) to reach my target of £2000 to ensure those affected by brain tumours live longer, better lives.

What a way to finish my biggest mileage week...

Dare Valley Trail Marathon

The donation from the guys Sporttape the night before, alongside the fantastic donations from all of my supporters, topped the just giving pot up to £1500 (100% of the target) which definitely gave me some extra motivation and energy to complete those hot and hilly 26.9 miles!

I can't believe that I'm in a position to raise the fundraising pot again. How amazing is that?

All I can say is thank you ❤️

This van is a part of our journey...
She went pitch side with Paddy whilst physioing at rugby matches, she drove us on our wedding day, she got us to months of hospital treatments and now she is raising awareness of my charity ultra run and Paddy's Brain Tumour story.

A huge thank you to Gareth John & Jane for designing the awesome graphics and to Emma JP Signs & Print for bringing those designs to life by signing the van.

In the words of Paddy "Proper job!"

Described as beautiful and brutal, this race provided a great opportunity for me to log some big miles and big climbs whilst practicing navigational skills, nutrition, hydration, pacing and carrying a full kit. Brilliant ultra training for the Dragon 50.

I have run and walked lots of fantastic miles over the last few weeks. From Priories to Tripoints, bluebell woodlands to muddy trails, a spot of garlic foraging, and plenty of quad burning climbs (with amazing views at the top!). Training for the ultra is going well and I'm having lots of little running adventures that Paddy would be proud of.

Big thanks to Micky Morris Racing Team Ridge Runners Ramblers Cymru Mynydd Du for sharing these awesome routes with me and for the great company out on the trails.

I have two exciting updates to share with you all.

Update #1
Training has been going well and fundraising has been going ever better. The initial target was set at £1000 and I am so happy to announce that together we have achieved that goal (and more) and there is still time to continue building on that awesome total.

Update #2
I have made the decision to change the challenge event so that I can run a little closer to home. I will now be running The Dragon 50 (July 16th) which is the same distance (50 miles) starting from Kenfig Sands Reserve following the Welsh Coastal Path all the way back to Cardiff Bay. It means that I will be running on home turf, where we have lots of happy memories of camping holidays and running adventures. It has been an emotional and demanding journey to date and so to share the big day with family and friends close by cheering me along and remembering Paddy means a huge amount. It also means I can fit some bonus ultra events into the training build up (watch this space)...
