Lyric Arts France

An exciting summer opera festival and young artist program in the heart of South-Central France, in Villefranche de Rouergue.

Festival Lyrique International Villefranche-de-Rouergue (called the Lyric Arts Festival in English) is a new Opera Festival in the beautiful heart of the Rouergue in South-Central France. Applications are welcomed from around the world to be a part of a new combined professional training and performing Young Artists Program. The program runs for five weeks, from 24 June to 28 July 2024. Festival p

erformances run from 18-28 July 2024 and include:
* Mozart’s The Magic Flute
* Offenbach’s M. Choufleuri restera chez lui
* Masterclasses
* Several concerts of French art song, opera, and other vocal music

Application deadline for the 2026 Lyric Arts France / Festival Opéra Bastide has been extended to February 28. Casting is currently in process, and roles in new productions of Le nozze de Figaro, Orphée y Euridice, and Cabaret Paris Berlin are still available.

Still looking for a summer program in a European festival? Be a part of the Lyric Arts France / Festival Opéra Bastide in Villefranche de Rouergue, France in June and July 2026.

Full productions (with orchestra) include Le nozze di Figaro, Orphée et Euridice, and a new cabaret production, Cabaret Paris Berlin, influenced by the Broadway musical "Cabaret" and songs of the period. The program also includes masterclasses, coaching and voice lessons, recitals, outreach concerts, and daily French classes.

A limited number of major roles (and scholarships) are still available, but the application deadline is fast approaching!

✨YOUNG ARTIST SPOTLIGHT✨

This evening two of our talented young artists, Marie-Ève Pineau and Sean Holshouser, were the opening act for the most popular Occitanie folk band in the world, Nadau! They performed Lyric Arts France’s iconic rendition of the Papageno/Papagena duet entirely in the native tongue of Occitan in front of a crowd of over 1500.
