If you are an art lover, Paris is a pretty incredible place to get married.

For Lily & Jonathan’s destination wedding in Paris, art became part of the atmosphere - not only inside museums, but all around them.

The couple took beautiful wedding photos at the Musée Rodin, surrounded by sculptures of this famous master. But one of the beautiful things about Paris is that art, culture, and history are present far beyond museum walls.

From the Louvre courtyard to the golden gates of the Petit Palais Museum and the elegant columns of Palais Royal, inspiration appears at almost every street corner.

That’s what makes getting married in Paris feel so unique. Even the walk between locations becomes part of the experience.

As a wedding celebrant in Paris, I love when couples are choosing places that reflect who they are and what they genuinely connect with - not just visually, but personally. For Lily & Jonathan, Paris was not simply a backdrop. It was part of the story itself.

Which Paris art-inspired location would you choose for your wedding photos?

Writing personal wedding vows can feel surprisingly intimidating.

Many couples worry their vows will sound too emotional, too awkward, not poetic enough - or simply stare at a blank page not knowing where to begin.

But after listening to hundreds of couples exchange vows during destination weddings, Paris elopements, and vow renewals, I can promise you this: The vows people remember most are rarely the “perfect” ones. They are the vows that feel honest.

Very often, it is the small details that make wedding vows emotional and unforgettable: the tiny habits, the memories only the two of you understand, the difficult moments you overcame together, or the simple everyday things that quietly became part of your love story.

Your vows do not need to sound like a movie script. They simply need to sound like you.

I shared my best tips for writing personal wedding vows on the Journal - including structure ideas, emotional guidance, and ways to make your vows feel authentic rather than generic.

A Hidden Gem for a Paris Elopement: Parc de Bagatelle

Some Paris elopement locations feel iconic. Others feel like a well kept secret.

For Alex & Jennifer’s Paris elopement, we chose Parc de Bagatelle - one of the most beautiful hidden gems in Paris, especially for couples looking for a quieter and more intimate atmosphere away from the larger crowds.

From the pale blue and gold entrance gates to the little blue gazebo overlooking the rose garden, every corner of the park feels effortlessly elegant and romantic. There are winding pathways, rose-covered arches, hidden corners, and the Orangerie - the beautiful château-like building where I officiated their ceremony.

Their elopement ceremony there felt incredibly intimate and romantic, eloping in Paris and exchanging personal marriage vows surrounded by the calm atmosphere of the gardens.

If you love roses, summer is especially magical here when the rose garden is in full bloom. But as Alex & Jennifer’s autumn elopement beautifully shows, Parc de Bagatelle is charming in every season. There’s something about this place that feels effortlessly Parisian and almost royal at the same time.

Would you choose this kind of hidden garden atmosphere over the more famous Paris locations?

Dawn & Simon came from the UK to celebrate their marriage in a way that truly reflected them. Before their vow renewal ceremony at the Shangri-La overlooking the Eiffel Tower, we explored some of Paris’ most historic places together.

Because Simon is a huge Napoleon enthusiast — and Dawn happily shares his love for history — locations like the Invalides and the Arc de Triomphe were an important part of the story we wanted to capture.

And during the ceremony itself, I read an extract from one of Napoleon’s love letters to Joséphine — a personal detail that made the moment feel even more meaningful.

What I loved most about this day was not perfection or posing, but the quiet ease between them. The comfort of two people who have spent 25 years building a life together and still find joy in celebrating it.

A reminder that Paris is not only for new love stories.

Lina & Pierre-Yves’ wedding at Château d’Ermenonville brought together not just two people, but multiple cultures, languages and traditions.

Their ceremony was fully bilingual - in English and in French - so that every guest, whether English- or French-speaking, could follow, understand, and truly share the moment with them.

Beyond the language, we also incorporated several Persian wedding traditions throughout the ceremony.

We had readings from the poet Hafez, Persian vows, a honey feeding ritual, and the beautiful moment of the wedding canopy with the sugar rubbing ceremony - along with many other symbolic gestures.

At the heart of it all was the Sofreh Aghd, the traditional Persian ceremony table. Beautifully decorated it held all the meaningful elements used during the ceremony - honey, sugar cones, a poetry book, a mirror, a veil - and more, each one carrying a wish for the couple’s life together.

As an intercultural celebrant, this is something I deeply value: bringing different traditions together in a way that feels natural, respectful, and meaningful - not only for the couple, but also for everyone present.

Because when guests can understand and recognize parts of the ceremony, they don’t just witness it - they feel part of it.

Planning a bilingual or intercultural wedding in France? I’d love to help you create a ceremony that reflects your story.

When couples elope to Paris with just the two of them, one question always comes up:

Who throws the flower petals at the end of the ceremony?

I do.

As your Paris Officiant, I’m there to create a personal ceremony, recommend beautiful locations, guide you toward the best time of day (often sunrise), and officiate your vows with care and presence.

But I’m also there to celebrate with you.

Throwing petals. Pouring champagne. Cheering you on as newlyweds in Paris.

Because choosing an intimate wedding doesn’t mean missing out on the joyful moments — it simply means sharing them differently.

Planning your own Paris elopement? I’d love to help you bring it to life.

For Jen & Kris’ Paris elopement, I suggested Île Saint-Louis for their wedding photoshoot - one of those rare places that still feels like the Paris people dream of.

Elegant bridges over the Seine. Stone staircases leading down to the riverbanks. Quiet little streets lined with classic Parisian architecture. Café terraces at charming corners. A secret garden behind a medieval castle. Beautiful doors and hidden details everywhere you turn.

It’s a part of Paris that feels romantic without trying too hard, and naturally photogenic without needing much direction.

The kind of place where couples can simply walk, pause, laugh together, and let the city do the rest.

As their English speaking officiant and elopement planner, I always look for locations that feel beautiful, but also easy and natural to move through - where photos never feel staged.

And as a little bonus: Île Saint-Louis can still work beautifully later in the day, unlike some other Paris locations.

Would you choose this side of Paris over the more obvious spots? Save this for your Paris elopement inspiration and tell me below.

Rachelle & Andy’s Paris elopement was all about contrast.

A super elegant and classy start at the Louvre, followed by a more relaxed and romantic moment at a Parisian street café with a view of the Eiffel Tower.

Two very different settings — both completely them.

That’s what I love about elopements in Paris: you don’t have to fit into one style or one atmosphere.

As their celebrant and elopement planner, I helped them choose locations that reflected both sides of their story and made the whole day flow naturally.

Planning your own Paris elopement? I’d love to help you create something just as personal.
