The French language is so beautiful but so very hard for us to learn!! Like why are objects feminine or masculine? Why so many letters that are not pronounced (can we not just take them out) Letters that make sounds that should be replaced by other letters?? Lucky we have a very patient tutor!! To anyone who has the displeasure of hearing us speak French your welcome to laugh and giggle 🤭

Sophie and Alan had a wonderful morning playing in the winter wonderland they created by tearing apart their expensive bed. It’s Feral Friday here at the chateau and today it’s the puppies turn rather than the kids. Have a great weekend everyone, we will be shovelling snow.

We woke up three days ago to the salon and billiard room swarming with bees!! They have made hives in three of the ground floor chimneys. We tried peppermint oil to no avail. Called local bee keepers who told us to light a fire and smoke them out. We couldn’t do this as the hives we were so big they could catch fire and our chimneys are not fire ready. So we have sealed them up! French bees are friendly, not one sting!! Bees are so important to nature, not so in our chateau!! 🐝

First use of the slip and slide, as well as outdoor beautification at Chateau de la Brosse. Anyone got any ideas for what we can do where the old garden beds are?
