International Workshop : “Cities and Skateboarding”

Connect is proud to partner with ESSCA School of Management to present the second edition of the international Humanities and Social Sciences workshop dedicated to skateboarding and its interactions with the city.

This workshop invites PhD candidates, doctoral researchers, academics, practitioners, urban planners and public stakeholders to meet, share their work, and collectively reflect on contemporary urban issues linked to skateboarding. Urbanism, mobility, inclusion, public space, ecological transitions, city-making and social phenomena are among the themes that may be explored.

The call for papers is now open! Deadline for submissions: June 30, 2026.

CONNECT is back for its third edition 📆

We are shifting the calendar this year and moving the dates forward to September 24–27 to make sure we hit the peak of the Bordeaux sun.

Expect four days of international talks, concerts, sessions, and skateable sculptures.

We are scaling up for 2026 and can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.

The is already back with a special episode filmed during the CONNECT international skaturbanism festival in Bordeaux, France.

Created by & , this new edition brings together an eclectic international crew, from and (Japan) to and (Brazil) and many more.

Over eight days, the crew explored in a fun, inventive and spontaneous way Bordeaux’s streets, plazas, skateable sculptures, and the city’s newest skate-friendly spots, shaped through years of collaboration with the municipality.

All captured by Rémi’s VX1000, between conferences, workshops, sessions and festival nights.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY 🎬 CONNECT 2025 WAS SIMPLY INSANE!

From October 16 to 19, Bordeaux and the world once again got together to celebrate Skaturbanism and what makes skateboarding culture special. This edition took a new dimension and we want to thank each and everyone of you for making the trip, often from the other side of the planet, and connecting with us and everyone.
Between inspiring talks, exhibitions, film screenings, skate sessions on our sculptures and in the streets, academic workshops and DJ sets, freestyle battles and guided visits, this second edition was a true playground for exchange, experimentation and lifelong connections!

Nearly 30 Panelist shared their visions and expertise, making Connect a unique platform where skaters, urban planners, artists, and enthusiasts can come together to build a better future.

Thank you to everyone who took part for your support, your ideas, your energy, for skating, dancing, and making this event such a collective success 🫶

And of course, big thanks to all our partners, artists, speakers, activists and volunteers for their trust and dedication!

It was just amazing !!✨

Another amazing day at Cour Mably for this third day !

The venue was buzzing with inspiring talks, meaningful exchanges, and a lively partners’ village filled with stands and activities.

And what a final evening it was! More than 1,400 of you brought incredible energy and made it an unforgettable night 💥

Your enthusiasm and good vibes make all the difference, thank you to each and every one of you for contributing to this amazing atmosphere 🫶

The festival is coming to an end… so we hope to see many of you today for one last day.
