The Opera festival summer 25 is now really done... How are we feeling?

But now it's time to take a look for Opera Festival summer 2026 🤩 The theme is "Italy arrives in Savonlinna" and here is what we bring to the table!

👰‍♀️ An evening at The Marriage of Figaro is sure to be an unforgettable experience – just as it was back in 2015. Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro brings to the stage a lively and cunning opera buffa, where witty comedy is layered with sharp social commentary.

🦋 Puccini’s Madama Butterfly tells a story of wistful longing and painful love. Directed by Henry Akina, this production highlights the emotional drama of human relationships, carried by Puccini’s beautiful music – one of the most touching love stories in opera history.

👑 Nabucco returns to Olavinlinna after its acclaimed premiere in 2024. Powerful choral scenes, monumental staging, the heart-wrenching fates of the main characters, and the captivating star soprano Marigona Qerkezi as Abigaille are sure to move audiences once again.

❤️‍🔥 Our guest opera house from Gothenburg presents Silvia Paoli’s brand-new production of Verdi’s La Traviata. The visit is crowned by a concert performance of Bellini’s bel canto masterpiece Norma, featuring the long-awaited debut of contemporary star Lisette Oropesa in the title role.
