Rantasalmi is a small Finnish community in the South Savo region, about 300 kilometers (185 miles) northeast of Helsinki, surrounded by endless forests and shimmering lakes. The name Rantasalmi comes from the Finnish words 𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢 (shore) and 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘪 (strait).

With a population of just 3200 people and estimated 3500 saunas, here sauna isn’t a luxury. It’s a way of life, woven into the rhythm of everyday living.

Rantasalmi’s story is deeply rooted in wood and craftsmanship. For centuries, people have mastered the art of shaping timber into homes, cottages, and saunas, built to last and made with care.
