THE FIRE CEREMONEY
“FROM OLD ASHES RISES NEW LIFE” - Burning ART Festival is a celebration of Life
“The Burning ART family is a tribe of humanistic, visionary thinking people, a growing community of conscious living.”
The Fire Ceremony symbolises The Heart Fire, the burning flame of life. It is the dance of life, the cycle between birth and death, new and old. Fire symbolises destruction but also rebirth, and as artist we have collectively agreed on having a fire ceremony to we burn old art, for the purpose of creating new space, inviting new creative energy, for the rebirth of new art.
Burning ART Festival is held on fall. The Scandinavian nature is very powerful, autumn is a time of transition between summer to winter, the Fire Ceremony is a reminder that we are all apart of nature, and nature is a part us.
The first BURNING ART FESTIVAL was held 2015 - and is deeply inspired by the BURNING MAN FESTIVAL in the US. Similarly to “Burning Man” - we are having a fire ceremony.
ART IS HEALING
ART is an important roll in the human evolution and the development of our spaces. It is a heritage by our ancestors, a deeply rooted and primal way of expressing ourselves, our feelings, emotions and it has a significant importance for the development of the human brain. It helps us to reflect and understand life, dealing with problems, healing trauma, releasing tension and negativity.
Today we are a multicultural and diverse community strongly believing in the healing powers of art. We are a community of artist, poets, painters, filmmakers, photographers, musicians, dancers, herbalists - who all come together for the name of spiritual growth, healing, wellbeing and unity.
THE STORY BEHIND
It all begun with the Art Factory Malakta - a centre for creativity, culture, arts and people. The Art Factory Malakta was established in 2007 by Ann-Maj Granstubb and Jukka Rajala-Granstubb with a vision to create a space for people, creativity, wellbeing and development.
With the keywords participation, action, creativity, growth and inclusion, naturally started a collaboration with Spiritual Academy in Ostrobothnia, Finland. Together organically developing the mutual aim, of creating an oasis for people where creativity, ideas, art, and culture can grow and flourish in harmony.
The Festival is held at the Art Factory Malakta, that is located in an old dairy by the Malax River in the municipality of Malax in western Finland. WELCOME!
