Järjestimme viime syksynä Euroopan kulttuuriympäristöpäivät ohjelman syksyisenä iltana lähellä olevan entisen kyläkoulun pihassa. Tapahtumasta on nyt artikkeli European Heritage Days (EHD) / Journées européennes du patrimoine (JEP) sivulla.
🇫🇮: Vaikka tarina sijoittuu pieneen länsisuomalaiseen maaseutuyhteisöön, se heijastaa yhteistä eurooppalaista kokemusta. Eri puolilla Eurooppaa on lukemattomia paikallisia kohteita, jotka kantavat muistoa 1900-luvun konflikteihin liittyvistä lähdön, menetyksen ja sitkeyden hetkistä. Ylikylän muistomerkki onkin yksi niistä paikoista, joissa paikallishistoria kietoutuu osaksi laajempia eurooppalaisia tapahtumia ja arvoja.
