TEDxViikki Speaker Spotlight :

A young self-published author, international, and award-winning youth advocate empowering multicultural youth through storytelling, identity, and civic engagement. Currently pursuing a law degree at King’s College London, Isioma draws from her lived experiences as a young woman of Nigerian-Finnish heritage to champion inclusion, resilience, and voice.

Her powerful voice has earned her the Future Leader Award from the IWWOF - International Working Women of Finland Ry and a place on Team Finland at the 2023 World Schools Debating Championships.

Her TEDx Talk: Owning the Narrative: Empowering Multicultural Youth Through Storytelling.

The talk reveals how storytelling fosters empathy, shapes AI narratives, and helps young people redefine belonging on their own terms.

In a world increasingly shaped by migration, identity politics, and cultural intersections, young people from diverse backgrounds often face pressure to assimilate rather than express. Isioma’s TEDx talk confronts this tension head-on, arguing that storytelling is the most potent tool for self-empowerment.

Natalia is an Associate Professor (PhD), Chief Researcher, and Head of the Cultural Diversity Team at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (.fi )She is a widely recognized researcher whose work bridges public health, positive psychology, and equity-driven systems change.

At TEDxViikki 2025, Natalia brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the stage. As a migrant woman and mother of a child with a disability, she will explore the invisible walls that keep people out of full participation in society and how to dismantle them.

Tara was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 19, Tara was once told to retire from life at 24. She was hospitalized six times in two years, living in the chaos of psychosis. But through radical self-care, community healing, and peer support, she transformed her life.

Today, she’s been symptom-free for years and has worked as a psychology professional and mental health advocate for over 23 years.

🎤 At TEDxViikki 2025, Tara will share her journey of surviving psychosis, reclaiming her voice, and building a thriving life. Her talk is a powerful invitation to rethink mental illness, challenge stigma, and honour the healing power of human connection.

With a PhD in Public Health and expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), Shadia is a leading voice on inclusive recruitment and working life. Her impactful DEI work at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) earned her the Innovator in Recruiting Award in 2021.

At TEDxViikki 2025, Shadia will take the stage with her talk:

“This is Why I Question Merit-Based Hiring.”
