15th World Gymnaestrada 2015 Helsinki Official page of the 15th World Gymnaestrada, a major gymnastics event held in Helsinki, Finland 12-18 July 2015. Make the Earth Move!

The World Gymnaestrada is a world-wide FIG Gymnastics for All event held every 4 years and attracting the largest number of active participants of any FIG event. Participation is for everybody, regardless of gender, age, race, religion, culture, ability or social standing.

25.000 participants from 50 different countries are expected to take part in Helsinki. The event is non-competitive, and gymn

asts of all ages perform in variety of venues. The performances can be enjoyed also by citizens of Helsinki as well as tourists. This page is for all Gymnaestrada friends to offer information, latest news and peeks behind the scenes of this major gymnastics event. The page also provides a platform for conversations, questions and feedback between the people interested in the World Gymnaestrada and the organisers. Page is maintained by the Local Organising Committee LOC of the 15th World Gymnaestrada Helsinki, Finland.

Some photos and atmosphere from yesterday's Finnish Sport Gala, where World Gymnaestrada 2015 Helsinki was selected as a Sport Event of the year.

Tiistaina 12.1.2015 Hartwall Areenalla järjestetyssä Suomen Urheilugaalassa palkittiin vuoden 2015 liikunnan ja urheilun menestyjiä jakamalla Uuno-palkintoja 19 eri kategoriassa.

Vuoden Urheilutapahtumaksi valittiin voimistelun suurtapahtuma Gymnaestrada. Tampereen Voimistelijoiden Minetit sijoittuivat toiseksi yleisöäänestyksessä vuoden Sykähdyttävimmäksi hetkeksi.

OMG! World Gymnaestrada 2015 Helsinki is now officially the Sport Event of the year 2015! This is a huge thing in Finland, for Finnish gymnastics, for everyone who has been part of this event. As an organizer, volunteer, participant, audience! We did it together! Thank you everybody! Gymnastics definately moves!

Meanwhile in Dornbirn, Austria. 3 presidents, 2 LOCs and FIG GfA Committee gathered together on the same table. Experiences and best practises were shared. Now on it's all in the hands of these ladies. World Gymnaestrada 2019. Do not miss it!
