The specialty coffee event of the year is just around the corner, and we thought you might have some practical questions: Here's some answers to things you might be wondering about!

📍 𝗪𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞?

Roast Fest 2026 will be held at Wanha Satama, Helsinki (Pikku Satamakatu 3-5). The venue is easily accessible by public transport, bike, or on foot from the city center. The best trams to catch are 4 and 5, both dropping you off just around the corner.

🎟️ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧?

Please be prepared to show your ticket at the entrance. If there are still tickets available on the day of the event, you can also purchase a ticket at the entrance. If you have a discounted ticket, remember to bring the relevant discount group certificate with you as well. Once your ticket has been checked, it will be exchanged for a wristband, which gives you access to the event.

👧 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝?

Children under 7 years old are welcome to attend Roast Fest with an adult who holds a valid ticket. ❤️

You’re welcome to bring your own cup or mug if you like. However, we will provide designated tasting cups for each visitor to borrow during the event. You can pick one up (and return it) at the 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨 & 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐡 Desk.

Helsinki Coffee Week has been an event from baristas to coffee enthusiasts of all levels since 2018. We put enormous personal input into organizing the events but let’s face it: NONE of them would happen without companies supporting our cause 🙌☕️

Peru has emerged as one of the most interesting coffee origins in the world, combining exceptional cup quality with strong environmental and social impacts. This presentation will explore how Peruvian coffee has evolved from a traditional commodity into a globally recognized origin for organic and specialty coffee.

How is 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄 going? 🤔🔥

Our competing roasters have been busy tweaking their recipes for the past weeks to find the
one they think will bring them the title for 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔! They still have some time and some of the roasters sent their hello during the process. 👋

And if you're new here and don't know what the competition is about, here's a recap:

The idea of 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄 couldn’t be simpler: the competing roasters received
10kg of the same green coffee from our sponsor Osito Coffee & Cacao. They have a couple of weeks to
roast the coffee as well as they can, using their own equipment and methods. Then, on
𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲, they all come together and submit their roasted coffee samples to us. We code
them and arrange a cupping where the roasters evaluate each other's coffees blind so no one
knows who’s coffee is who's. The cup with the best total scoring wins the competition!🔥🏆

Aaand that's not all! At 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓, on Saturday 26th September, 𝐘𝐎𝐔 also have a chance to
taste the competition roasts and choose your own favourite! 🥇 In addition to the winner
selected by the roasters themselves, we will also let our visitors choose the Public's Choice at
the cupping table. The winners will be revealed on our Main Stage during the afternoon session.

𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐘 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

𝐈𝐓’𝐒 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 – and this year, it’s bigger than ever! 🤩

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝, DLC, is one of the cornerstones of Helsinki Coffee Week and was now curated for the eight time. This is your very unusual (dis)loyalty card that encourages you to explore the coffee scene around town!

For two weeks, we’re challenging you to be a little… disloyal. 😏☕️ Tour around the city, discover new favorites, and support some of the amazing cafés that make Helsinki’s coffee scene what it is!

We received more applications than we even knew to expect, which made choosing the cafés for the card no easy task! After much consideration, we managed to curate a map with a great mix of completely new and returning cafés, spread all around Helsinki. In total, there are 𝟏𝟔 𝐜𝐚𝐟𝐞́𝐬 on this year’s Disloyalty Card.

The rules of the Disloyalty Card could not be simpler:

1. Go to one of the participating cafés, buy a coffee, and get a Disloyalty Card and your first sticker.
2. Collect a sticker from 5 different cafés on the map to get a 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐄 from the next location!
3. Once you’ve collected 𝟔 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 stickers, take a picture of the card with your name on it and submit it to the raffle on our website to win coffee-flavoured prizes! 🤩

And if you’re really feeling adventurous, why stop at six? Visit all 𝟏𝟔 𝐜𝐚𝐟é𝐬 on the map and make the most of the challenge while discovering new spots around the city. 🗺️☕️🏁

From Central Ostrobothnia’s Kokkola, we welcome 𝐍𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲! What started as a home kitchen project and over 15 years of coffee enthusiasm is now one of the newer additions to Finnish artisan roastery scene ☕️🔥

Stockholm-based 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 will bring their competition coffee line up as well as expert brewing to Wanha Satama! Standout will also host one of the Roast Fest Cuppings around Competition Style Coffees so stay tuned for more info to not miss out! 👀

𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞? 👀☕️

We took two coffees to the streets of Helsinki and put some coffee drinkers to the test. One was one of Finland’s most sold commercial coffees. The other? Coffee from an award-winning Finnish artisan roastery. 🧐

No coffee jargon. No fancy tasting notes. Just two cups, an honest sip, and one simple question: can you spot the difference? Huge thanks to everyone who had the courage to stop, taste, and tell us exactly what they thought. Some spotted the difference in no time and won two tickets to 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐅𝐄𝐒𝐓 as a reward. 🎟️🎟️
