As a Clinician Scientist at Abridge, Michal works at the intersection of medicine, software and artificial intelligence, bringing the perspective of a practising interventional cardiologist directly into the development of clinical AI.

Abridge is transforming how AI fits into healthcare workflows, turning clinical conversations into documentation and actionable intelligence so clinicians can spend more time focused on patients. Today, its technology supports more than 100 million clinical conversations annually.

Michal’s path into technology started long before the current AI wave. He has been developing software for more than 20 years alongside his medical career, with a focus on applying AI to real clinical problems.

In 2026, his project postvisit.ai earned third place in Anthropic’s hackathon after being selected from 13,000 applications — a milestone that preceded his move to Abridge in San Francisco.

As Technology and Innovation Director at DEFINE Finland, Teemu works across startups, investors, government and end users to transform promising technologies into solutions ready for real defence and security needs.

He designs funding, acceleration and testing mechanisms that help startups navigate defence markets, validate their technologies and connect with institutional and operational partners.

In 2026, DEFINE became one of the ecosystems authorised to organise NATO Innovation Range testing events in Finland. The programme brought companies into real-world environments across Riihimäki, Joensuu, Oulu and Turku to test technologies spanning command and control, AI, communications and sensor systems.

Riihimäki is also set to host a new NATO command and control unit from 2027, bringing 60 specialist positions to the city and further strengthening its role in Finland’s defence technology landscape.
