And so, our summer season of Tales Of The Unexpected draws to a close. We’ve talked plenty about the headline artists, and much has been said about the incredible sound and visuals of the Akasha Ibiza club room. But perhaps not enough about the wonderful space where our nights begin.

Las Dalias Café is the perfect pre-party setting, beautifully designed inside and out. A place to meet friends, grab a bite, enjoy a few cheeky drinks and ease into the evening listening to some carefully crafted sounds on their fantastic in-house system. This week, we hand the reins to some friends from Northern Ireland. Belfast party starters Plan B and Simon Sheldon collective get things moving, with DJs Nik Muzka, and Dan bringing their own delirious fusion of trip-hop and dub magic — on skates — before Visions Of Light make their second live appearance with us, following their hugely successful debut last year.

So, in the words of a certain confectioner… we really are spoiling you with these delights. If you don’t have the time or inclination to spend the whole night with us, come down early and support your friends from the north.

Topping and tailing the Unexpected for our Closing party this Friday night at Akasha are two Dj’s that are familiar to our crew but maybe not to you.

Opening the proceedings in the club room from 23:00 this week James Robinson, Ibiza resident and broad selector, with a collection befitting the range of different moods and settings he plays for around the Island. From early poolside moments to late night energy and everything in between, looking to merge a variety of styles and different tempos to build the vibe, always digging deep in his record bag(s). We think James is the perfect Dj to set the stage for our headline artists Heidi Lawden & Lovefingers bringing the groove yet enabling them to shine.

Last up and closing our season at Akasha in style is Derry born djgerardc. A staple of the Northern Ireland scene since its inception Gerard came to our attention when he asked us to be part of his incredible May Bank-holiday all-dayer at Roddens in Donegal. An incredibly versatile Dj who seamlessly moves from Downtempo, Balearic and soulful selections during his often long and extended sets before closing out with a more forceful and driving 4/4 progressive house sound..it’s party music aimed at the dance floor…and in our minds eye the perfect way to finish this summers fabulous season of events in The North.

Next Friday see’s our Tales Of The Unexpected residency at Akasha draw to a close. Another summer of unexpected musical highlights and journeys coming to an end, outstanding sets from guests and locals alike have given ourselves and the islands faithful music lovers something to look forward to on a monthly basis. We believe we saved the best till last.   Heidi Lawden has forgotten more about Dance Music than most of us will ever know having been embedded in the scene since her teens. Putting on the seminal ‘Rulin’ at Ministry Of Sound - the party that brought Dj Harvey to the greater publics attention - going on to play around the globe at venues such as Panorama Bar, Public Records, Horsemeat Disco at the infamous C**k, headlining dance stages at Glastonbury with a range that moves fluidly from House and Techno to synth-laden Disco oddities.
Her Partner Andrew (Lovefingers) Hogge is exactly the type of Dj we had in mind when we first started the Tales concept… uncategorizable. Founder of the revered ESP Institute — he is the quiet tastemaker’s tastemaker, his track-per-day archive at lovefingers.org expanded the ears of a generation and his releases have found their way into the bags of everyone from DJ Harvey and Laurent Garnier to Dixon and the late Andrew Weatherall.

Bittersweet reflections of summer coming to an end are made all the more bearable knowing that we are going out with such great company…come join us as we say good bye to the 2026 season at Akasha Ibiza.

Counting down the days till the Tales Of The Unexpected closing party!

We’re rounding out another fantastic season at Akasha Ibiza with a stacked lineup of friends, family and familiar faces.

Dynamic duo Heidi Lawden and Lovefingers play an extended B2B club set and local lad James Robinson makes his Akasha debut.

As is becoming somewhat of a closing party tradition Visions Of Light play live in the Las Dalias Cafe joined by fellow countrymen Paul Inflyte, djgerardc and debutant .

A lineup guaranteed to get those buttocks pumping.

A rare treat of rare grooves!

We’re headed to Casa Lhasa tomorrow evening for an extended vinyl only set with the ever wonderful .

It’s a beautiful spot with beautiful people and beautiful food and drinks.

Playing records changes our musical pallet somewhat so expect a slightly different painting but delivered of course with the usual Brothers Grim charm and panache!

A massive part of what we have always been about is supporting and working with on-island resident artists, giving them the best position to shine in what we do with what they do. We continue to do this with our Tales Of The Unexpected parties and with GOLDIE M.B.E as headline artist we have been able to offer a chance to someone relatively new to the island. Making his home here in recent years and supporting us on Thursday August 13th is Mark System.

Raised in suburban North London and influenced by the city’s pirate radio networks, Mark developed his craft through early experiments with keyboards, microphones and tape becoming a massively successful and established artist within the scene. Supported by Shy Fx and dBridge to name two giants of D&B and with releases with Exit and Digital Soundboy Mark System became a name to follow. His music is mature and confident yet far from tamed and the intensity of his DJ sets evokes strong emotion. They are attractive, edgy and yet accessible….very much like the man himself. And we are very happy to have him close the proceedings of the next Unexpected adventure at Akasha...

GOLDIE M.B.E popularised Drum & Bass as a form of musical expression every bit as worthy of contemplation as techno had become by the early ‘90s. But while others disappeared into the studio, Goldie with his gold teeth and B-boy attitude always kept one foot firmly in the rave.

Booking Goldie in Ibiza was always going to be a risk. The undisputed home of the 4/4 pulse doesn’t always take kindly to artists operating slightly left of centre, even when they’ve been at the top of their game for over 30 years.

We took the chance. Booking him to perform in a certain dead rock stars - rumoured to be - former bedroom in the hills of San Antonio. The first show was a thing of wonder. The second was a lockout. On both occasions Goldie effortlessly flipped through the sounds that inspired him in the first place, lifting the whole space into orbit and creating scenes rarely witnessed before or since in that room.

Well, you know what they say... third time’s a charm.

Goldie returns for his only Ibiza performance of the summer on Thursday 13th August.

Bigger space. Bigger sound system. Same uncompromising energy.

Tales Of The Unexpected has always been about doing things a little differently! The musical spectrum is both broad and beautiful and we like to explore all corners of the rhythmic rainbow. Our next three events showcase a brief glimpse into the wide and wonderful world of music out there, and not only are they varied they are also the only times you’ll be able to see these artists in Ibiza this Summer.

We kick off our trio of exclusive performances on Friday 5th June with our friend and co-conspirator . A man of many talents, and many aliases too. His productions as Man Power cover most corners of electronica and as Bed Wetter he dives deeper into ambiance, atmospheres and even as far as classical compositions with his work with The Royal Northern Sinfonia. A music man through and through.

Next up, and certainly not needing needing this elaborate introduction, the godfather of Drum N Bass, a true electronic music pioneer, a cultural icon and someone truly deserving of the often over used term legend, makes his Akasha debut and only Ibiza performance of the Summer on Thursday 13th August. This is going to be one for the history books, tickets are flying out. Grab yours while you still can!

And finally and equally as iconic we are incredibly proud to present the only Ibiza performance of the year for . Perhaps more at home headlining festivals to thousands of people around the globe, the chance to catch them DJing in such an intimate venue does not come around often! Their music soundtracked a generation; effortlessly cool, full of soul and tenderness while managing to sound at the same time dynamic, daring and dramatic. We can’t wait to welcome them for another Akasha debut.
