🌊⌛ [GL] A sección 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐚, dedicada a filmes históricos e de arquivo, achéganos ao cinema documental noruegués grazas á colaboración coa 𝐁𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐠𝐚.
🔵 A selección reúne seis filmes datados no primeiro terzo do século XX, de grande valor sociolóxico e antropolóxico, que nos permiten descubrir diferentes aspectos da vida e da relación co mar naquela época.
⚪Paisaxes de costumes, actividades de lecer e socialización, técnicas tradicionais de pesca artesanal e o desenvolvemento tecnolóxico da industria naval e pesqueira son algúns dos temas que percorren estas pezas de arquivo.
📽️ A sesión estará presentada por 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧, arquivista cinematográfica na 𝐁𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐠𝐚.

🌊⌛ [EN] The 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐚 section, dedicated to historical and archival documentary footage, brings us closer to Norwegian documentary cinema thanks to our collaboration with the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲.
🔵 The selection brings together six films dating from the first third of the 20th century, of great sociological and anthropological value, offering us a glimpse into different aspects of life and the relationship with the sea at the time.
⚪ Landscapes and customs, leisure and social activities, traditional small-scale fishing techniques, and the technological development of the naval fishing industries are some of the themes explored in these archival films.

🌊⚓[GL] A 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐨́𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚 reunirá nesta edición catro filmes de produción autóctona que nos convidan a mirar cara á nosa costa desde perspectivas moi diferentes.
🔵 O papel da muller nas profesións do sector pesqueiro, os inicios do surfismo na costa galega, a vinculación das fortalezas co mar na Costa da Morte ou a relación entre a natureza e os humanos son algunhas das historias que nos achegan os traballos seleccionados.

🌊⚓[EN] This year, the 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 will bring together four locally produced films that invite us to look at our coastline from very different perspectives.
🔵 The role of women in fishing-related professions, the beginnings of surfing on the Galician coast, the connection between coastal fortresses and the sea, and the relationship between nature and humankind are some of the stories explored by the selected films.

🌊🛥️ [GL] 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍 (2022), de 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐱, e 𝑨𝒍𝒕𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓 (2024), de 𝐄𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐬, conforman a sección 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐚, dedicada ao cinema de vangarda.
Trátase de dous filmes que nos achegan ao íntimo vínculo dos seus protagonistas co mar, á soidade da profesión e á beleza e crueza que a acompañan. Filmes que tamén poñen o foco nas relacións familiales e no fío condutor desta edición, amosándonos as incertezas sobre o futuro das frotas pesqueiras e as dificultades que presenta na actualidade o relevo xeracional.

Dende a Patagonia chilena, achegámonos ao relato íntimo de tres homes e das súas familias, unidos por un mar tan perigoso como impredecible, que é tamén o seu medio de vida. Guillermo, Andrés e Milton enfróntanse á dureza dunha profesión de longa tradición e reflexionan sobre o mar, os seus vínculos familiares e a necesidade e o desexo de perpetuar unha forma de vida ameazada de extinción.

Unha vida marcada por longas xornadas de traballo que, co paso dos anos, van deixando pegada no seu corpo e na súa mente.

These two films bring us closer to their protagonists' intimate bond with the sea, the loneliness of their profession, and the beauty and severity that come with it. They also focus on family relationships and on the central theme of this edition, exploring the uncertainties surrounding the future of fishing fleets and the challenges of generational renewal.

From Chilean Patagonia, we are introduced to the intimate stories of three men and their families, bound together by a sea as dangerous as it is unpredictable, and which is also their livelihood. Guillermo, Andrés and Milton face the hardships of a profession ooted in a long tradition as they reflect on the sea, their family ties, and the need and desire to preserve a way of life threatened with extinction.

🌅 O primeiro filme de 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐨 achéganos ao sector bateeiro da Ría de Arousa a través dunha obra que pon o foco no seu compoñente humano e na batea como eixe central da vida de moitas familias na zona.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Xeración tras xeración, o cultivo do mexillón é para a familia Mariño e outras moitas familias, máis ca un medio de vida, é un sinal de identidade e un nexo de unión. Unha profesión que non distingue de sexos nin de idades e que, malia as adversidades, segue a ser vista polos máis novos como unha profesión de futuro.

🌊🦪[EN] The film 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒔 𝒅𝒖𝒏𝒉𝒂 𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒂 (2026), by Rianxo filmmaker 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧̃𝐨, will be the closing film of 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨 2026, which will hold its world premiere.
🌅 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐨 brings us into the mussel farming community of the Ría de Arousa through a work that focuses on its human side and on the 𝑏𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑎 - the traditional mussel raft - as a central part of the lives of many families in the area.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Generation after generation, mussel farming has been much more than a livelihood for these families: it is a symbol of identity and a bond that brings them together. A profession that knows no boundaries of gender or age and that, despite the challenges, is still seen by younger generations as a profession with a future.

🌊🚢 [GL] 𝑭𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒔 𝑭𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐 𝑺𝒐́𝒔 (2025), a primeira longametraxe do cineasta e videoartista 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚́𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚, será o filme inaugural desta 𝐈𝐗 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐨́𝐧.
⚓ Unha obra profundamente vinculada a Rianxo e á poesía de 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨. O seu título nace precisamente dun dos poemas de 𝑫𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒐 𝒂 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒐, e, ao igual que o poemario, achéganos á soidade e á dureza do traballo no mar.
🎬 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚 convídanos a unha viaxe íntima e persoal a través da súa vida, marcada polas tempadas de ausencia do seu pai, patrón de pesca de altura. Nesta travesía descubriremos anacos de realidade gravados dende finais dos anos 80 ata a experiencia do propio director, en 2024, como acompañante nunha campaña no Gran Sol. Un percorrido pola memoria que trata de encher os ocos deixados polos momentos que pai e fillo viviron separados.

🌊🚢 [EN] 𝙒𝙚 𝙒𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙛𝙩 𝘼𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 (2025), the first feature film by filmmaker and video artist 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚́𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚, will open the 𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 of the festival.
⚓ A work deeply connected to Rianxo and to the poetry of 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨. Its title comes from one of the poems in 𝑫𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒐 𝒂 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒐, and, like the book itself, brings us closer to the loneliness and harshness of work at sea.
🎬 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚 takes us on an intimate and personal journey spanning more than three decades of his life, marked by the long periods of absence of his father, a deep-sea fishing skipper. Along the way, we discover fragments of reality recorded from the late 1980s to the director’s own experience in 2024, when he joined a fishing campaign in the Grand Sole. A journey through memory that seeks to fill the gaps left by the moments father and son spent apart.

🌊🎥 O vindeiro 14 de outubro, coincidindo coa inauguración da 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚, sumarémonos á campaña da 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨́𝐧 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚 para celebrar o 𝐃𝛊́𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝛊́𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐨 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐨 e reivindicar a importancia dos océanos, dos mares e do patrimonio marítimo que forman parte da nosa historia, cultura e identidade.

✨🌊[GL] O cartel desta 𝐈𝐗 edición de 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨 amósanos un presente capaz de anticipar un posible futuro.

📸 A fotografía que ilustra o cartel é obra de 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, fotógrafo, videógrafo e apaixonado das historias do mar, das súas xentes e da vida salvaxe. Foi tomada a comezos de ano, nos baixos fronte ás costas de Nova Inglaterra, logo dunha poderosa tormenta que conseguiu romper as amarras dun pequeno pesqueiro e empurralo até os areais.

🔹A través da súa ollada, a imaxe achéganos, de maneira metafórica, a un futuro marcado polo abandono das pequenas flotas pesqueiras sostibles, unha realidade que ameaza con transformar profundamente a vida e a identidade dos territorios costeiros.

⚓ Co foco posto na preservación das flotas de pesca artesanal e de baixura, como expresión da soberanía alimentaria, do patrimonio marítimo-pesqueiro e como sinal de identidade dos pobos costeiros, emprendemos unha nova singladura no 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐨.

✨🌊[EN] The poster for the 𝐈𝐗 edition of 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨 shows us a present that may foreshadow a possible future.

The photograph featured on the poster was taken by 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, a photographer, filmmaker and passionate storyteller of the coast, its people and its wildlife. The photograph was taken earlier this year in the waters off the coast of New England, following a powerful storm that broke the moorings of a small fishing boat and pushed it onto the shore.

🔹 Through his lens, the image becomes a metaphor for a future marked by the abandonment of small-scale sustainable fishing fleets, a reality that threatens to profoundly transform the life and identity of coastal communities.

⚓ With a focus on preserving small-scale and inshore fishing fleets, as an expression of food sovereignty, maritime and fishing heritage, and the identity of coastal communities, we embark on a new voyage that brings us once again to the Concello de Rianxo.

🌊🪸Hoxe, 8 de xuño, celebramos o 𝑫𝜾́𝒂 𝒅𝒐𝒔 𝑶𝒄𝒆́𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒔, fontes de vida, biodiversidade e sustento da humanidade.
🎥Promover o coñecemento, o respecto e o coidado dos océanos é un dos principais obxectivos de 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨 e, con esta vontade, desenvolvemos iniciativas ao longo de todo o ano, tanto en actividades descentralizadas como durante a celebración da propia Mostra.
🐠Unha das máis recentes foi a visita da cineasta e defensora dos océanos 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐥𝐞𝐲. Grazas á colaboración do 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐨 e do 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧̃𝐚𝐬 tivemos a oportunidade de achegar o seu traballo a diferentes comunidades e, ao mesmo tempo, amosarlle a riqueza humana e profesional do noso territorio.
Durante a súa estadía puido coñecer de primeira man o labor da 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐫𝛊́𝐚 𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐱𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐨, da 𝐀𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨́𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐬, do mestre carpinteiro de ribeira 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨́𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐨 e do poeta, pescador e artesán 𝐗𝐨𝐬𝐞́ 𝐈𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬.
⚓Dende 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐨 seguiremos poñendo o noso gran de area cada día para contribuír á protección dos océanos e fomentar unha relación máis respectuosa e sostible con eles.

🌊🐠 Hoxe celébrase o 𝑫𝜾́𝒂 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒂 𝑳𝒐𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂 𝒂 𝑷𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒂 𝑰𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒍, 𝑵𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒂 𝒆 𝑵𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒅𝒂.
⚓ Dende 2017, as 𝐍𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨́𝐧𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬 e a 𝐅𝐀𝐎 promoven esta xornada para concienciar sobre unha práctica que ameaza a sustentabilidade dos océanos e o medio de vida de comunidades costeiras e pescadores.
📊 Dende a 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚 convidámosvos a reflexionar sobre unhas cifras preocupantes: estímase que un de cada cinco peixes capturados no mundo procede de prácticas pesqueiras ilegais ou irregulares.
🌍 Unha realidade que pon en perigo os recursos pesqueiros do planeta e o futuro das persoas que dependen do mar como medio de vida.
✨Neste día e en todos, avancemos cara a unha pesca máis responsable!
