OFFICIAL UPDATE

We know how disappointing recent developments have been for many supporters, and we want to provide a clear and respectful update.

Following the removal of the Oldham vs Castleford fixture from the Benidorm Bash 2026 schedule, it was very much our intention to continue with the event. We remained in active discussions with artists, teams and contributors, including Legends Dinner speaker Adrian Morley. We also signed up new artists and an additional legends dinner speaker in Sean Long, and explored delivering a revised programme for January.

However, after receiving a number of threatening messages directed toward members of our organising team, we reported the matter to the police and sought guidance, as any responsible event organiser would. Based on the advice received and the considerations raised, we have taken the difficult decision that we cannot responsibly proceed with the Benidorm Bash in 2026. The safety and wellbeing of everyone involved must always come first.

As previously communicated, all ticketholders were issued a full refund for their tickets last week.

For the avoidance of doubt, Kadima SL has been operating for over a decade and has a long track record of delivering sporting events across football and rugby, including fixtures involving clubs from La Liga, the EFL and Super League — including Castleford’s warm weather camp and pre-season friendly against Valencia Huracanes in January of this year. This is the first time Kadima has been unable to deliver an event that it has announced, promoted and sold tickets for, and we are genuinely devastated that circumstances have led to this outcome after a year of planning.

As previously stated, Kadima has commenced a formal legal process in relation to matters arising from Oldham RLFC’s non-participation in the scheduled fixture. As this matter is now being handled by our legal representatives, we will not be making any further public comment.

Kadima remains fully committed to delivering its wider programme of events across 2026 and beyond, and to continuing to work positively with clubs, leagues and supporters.

We appreciate the patience, understanding and support shown by so many during what has been a very challenging period, and we understand the frustration felt by those who were looking forward to the event.

Over the past week, members of the Benidorm Bash organising team have received several threatening and abusive communications These have now been formally handed over to both the UK and Spanish police.

We fully understand the frustration and anger many ticketholders have felt following the developments surrounding the removal of the Oldham v Castleford fixture. Emotions have understandably run high.
However, we cannot and will not condone threats of violence or intimidation towards our team in any form.

To be absolutely clear, we are not attributing these messages to any club, supporter group, or organisation. At this time there is no evidence indicating who is responsible. Our only concern is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff.

We are currently reviewing the situation with guidance from the authorities to ensure that any future activity connected to the Benidorm Bash can take place safely for everyone involved.

All ticket purchases for the 2026 edition have already been refunded in full following the earlier removal of the Oldham v Castleford fixture.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and share further updates when appropriate.

Whilst we cannot respond to every question or statement, we can confirm that refunds were offered to all fans today. We can also confirm that we have now begun the legal process against Oldham RLFC. We will not be making further comments while the legal process is ongoing.

Benidorm Bash – Update

As previously advised, our team will begin contacting all ticketholders on Monday to discuss all available options, including refunds for those who no longer wish to attend.

We have also been formally requested by Castleford Tigers to inform supporters that the club considers itself never to have been contractually bound to the 2026 event. Whilst that is not our position, we are complying with this request.

Supporters may be questioning how this position aligns with Castleford’s extensive promotion of the fixture since March — including publishing the match on official club channels, linking to ticket information, and encouraging fans to book travel, hotels and tickets. It is reasonable that supporters may ask whether a typical person, observing that conduct, would have believed the club had committed to participating.

Kadima cannot speak on Castleford’s behalf. Any supporter seeking clarity on how this situation has arisen, or wishing to understand the club’s position in more detail, should direct their questions to Castleford Tigers or its senior leadership.

Kadima does not accept responsibility for the situation. We are pursuing the matter through the appropriate legal channels and will allow the judicial process to determine the full sequence of events and where responsibility lies.

Benidorm Bash Update

it is our intention to proceed with all other elements of the Benidorm Bash, including the 9s tournament, the Legends Dinner, music, DJs, and the wider programme.

We understand supporters’ concerns and as already stated all ticket holders will be contacted by our team on Monday 8th to discuss all available options.

FInally, we will not be responding to or rebutting any statements from Oldham RLFC or any other party, as the matter has been handed over to our legal representatives.

UPDATE – BENIDORM BASH 2026

Following the position communicated to us in writing by Oldham RLFC, their participation in the Benidorm Bash will not be going ahead. As a result of Oldham’s position, the Oldham vs Castleford fixture will no longer form part of the 2026 event.

We understand that many supporters were looking forward to this fixture and we can only sympathise with the disappointment this situation may cause.

Kadima has informed all ticketholders today via email, and our team will contact everyone who purchased tickets on Monday 8th December using the telephone and email details provided at the point of purchase to outline their available options.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the next steps.
