“That’s it – she’s done it!”

That’s a wrap for the 2018 gayVIS Cup! We’re blown away by the reaction to the tournament. To everyone that took part: THANK YOU! Everybody had to make some kind of sacrifice to be here for a mid-week event; whether you travelled from the other side of the globe or simply took a few hours off work, we really appreciate your commitment and hope that you had a good time.

Best of luck to those who are moving on to the Gay Games in Paris, and congratulations to everyone, but especially…

- Final Day!

For those of you that have survived yet another night of debauched midweek hedonism, we invite you to join us at the CIT for tonight’s gayVIS Cup finals, all of which will start at 7pm. There are some placement matches from 5pm; please check the schedule to see your match times.

Amongst today’s other highlights, our resident superchef Alessandro Righetto has been masterbaking all morning and will be getting his glorious buns* out. If you still need to prepare for Paris next week, don’t forget to take advantage of our special offer with the club’s stringer, and if you have any lingering aches and pains, our tournament masseur will take care of you. (ok, not buns, but exceedingly tasty, energy-giving cookies…)

Two things to note: the heatwave has arrived in Spain - today could be the hottest day of the year so far. Bring your swim gear, drink plenty of fluids, and use sunscreen, especially if you’ve not slept well or were out drinking. And secondly, the taxi strike is finally OVER! We still recommend you come to Cornellà via public transport, but this gives more comfortable options for the beach and airport transfers.

Thanks to our friend and re-stringer extraordinaire Yamid, all players will get a 20% discount on any string type + re-string service during the week of the tournament (final price will vary according to string type chosen).

The Pro Shop is open from 9:30am to 1:30pm and then again from 4pm to 8pm.

Introducing your gayVIS Cup masseur: Lucian Comiza

Need to get in shape for the Gay Games in Paris? Suffering from aches and strains after playing in Berlin and Madrid? Looking for some warm-up advice? Or just some old-fashioned pampering? Our tournament physio Lucian Comiza will be on hand throughout the tournament to help you.

Lucian is a personal trainer, masseur and soft tissue therapist and speaks fluent English and Spanish. DON'T CRY! At the gayVIS Cup you can have on-court coaching!

The gayVIS Cup is a team event, so we want to see you supporting your partner and offering those all-important on-court coaching tips during changeovers.

Each player can – if they choose - accompany their team mate on court during the singles matches and are free to confer during changeovers. Unlike the WTA, there will be no microphones, so if you have nothing of any tactical benefit to contribute, no-one will know…
