Happy weekend people…The sun is shining, the weather is sweet, down in Leamington… They’re moving their feet! This post is a little different, as we pay tribute to some of the fantastic couples who managed to ‘connect’ with one another via our lovely little event. Speaking to them the other week was pretty heart warming as they talked about their back-stories, challenges and new adventures together. Isn’t it great to hear good news, inspirational stories and exciting plans rather than the constant feed of bad news and negativity. Big ❤️ goes out to all of you and especially Darren for writing this little piece from the heart, fair play mate. Enjoy the rest of weekend people, love and respect J & P x

How We Met – Darren & Keri ❤️
Every February I have the privilege of being one of the resident DJs at the Tenerife Funk Soul House Fiesta, but I never imagined it would also be where I’d meet the love of my life.
On 4th February 2023, during the second event of the festival, Keri and her best friend, Lorrie came over to say hello. We exchanged a few words, but none of us had any idea that such a simple moment would end up changing our lives forever.
A couple of days later, fate stepped in again. I bumped into Keri and Lorrie at Manhattan’s Bar in Los Cristianos while they were having something to eat. I was there with my friends watching the boring Arsenal game ( which they lost 🤣 ) , but I wandered over for a chat. Somehow I ended up sitting next to Keri and from that moment there was something special. Conversation came so easily, the laughs were effortless, and I found myself connecting to this beautiful, funny, kind-hearted woman sitting next to me.
We arranged to meet for a drink after the festival, got to know each other properly, ( more drinks and karaoke at Dylan's bar to show off that I could sing as good as I Dj ) 🤣 and the rest, as they say, is history.
Three and a half years later, Keri is still the most beautiful woman in the room to me. She’s my best friend, my biggest supporter, my partner in crime and, without doubt, my soulmate. She has brought so much happiness, laughter and love into my life, and I honestly can’t imagine life without her.
And there’s one more person who deserves a special mention. Lorrie isn’t just the friend who happened to be there when we met—she has become one of our very best friends and means the world to both of us. We feel incredibly lucky to have her in our lives, and she’ll always be a huge part of our story.
The Tenerife Funk Soul House Fiesta has given me years of unforgettable memories behind the decks, but the greatest gift it ever gave me was introducing me to Keri. Every February now means even more to us because it’s where our story began, and for that we’ll always be grateful.
